I had my left hip replaced in April of 2023. Since the surgery I have been experiencing weakness in my left knee. The left side of my left thigh is completely numb. During the night I have trouble sleeping because of a phantom itch in my left thigh that I can not relieve because my thigh is numb. I was off work three months due to the hip replacement. I got an EMG through my family doctor because Ortho United is refusing to even schedule me an appointment or try to resolve my issues. When I ask them why they said that I had an outstanding balance of $220.00. I have been making payments to them. My original bill was $1439.24 and after only 10 months I only owe just over $200.00. Can they refuse me medical service to something that was caused during a hip replacement that they performed? Any help in this would be huge. Thank you. P.S. My insurance also paid them over $40,000. How can they refuse to help me? Thanks again.
