On March 25th, 2022, my friends helped me check out a 2014 Kia Forte we saw on ******** *****t for sale at Maz Motors LLC. Mazen, the dealer took them to a nearby automechanic near his dealership and the mechanic said the car was fine but I insisted they took it to ********* **** **** for a total engine check but when they got to the one in Canton, there was no available slot for a check. I spoke to Mazen on phone and he convinced me the car was good so I paid the agreed $6000 and he drove it to Kent. When he drove towards me, I heard the sound of the car and complained to him that there was an unusual engine sound. He said the car was heating up in the cold weather but I insisted that it should have heated up in the 40 minutes drive to Kent. He assured me the car was fine and pressured me to sign the papers. The next morning, I tried to start the car up and the unusual engine sound became worse so I called the ********* shop in Kent and got an appointment for Wednesday, 03/30/22. At ********* *oday, they confirmed the engine was bad and needed replacement. I called Mazen immediately but he denied knowing anything about a faulty engine. My friends and I drove down to Canton to talk to him and he agreed to come pick the car up, repair it and refund my money if I am not fine with the repair. He came down to Kent shortly after we left Canton, checked the car and confirmed the engine is bad. He promised to come pick the car up. A few hours later, he sent messages telling me he will not refund the money as he will not lose money on that car. I have not bought gas in the car nor changed the oil nor adjusted anything in the car since Mazen drove it down to Kent. The car obviously has issues and Mazen sold it to me as a car with no issues. This is very unfair to me, an international student who struggled to save money and get a car to make life easier here in the U.S. I worked hard for every dime I gave to Mazen and the car is not in a good shape. I want a total refund.
