"My family has been looking forward to receiving this order for months and the result has been quite disappointing. Your response email does not adequately address the errors that have been made. - As you can see in this invoice you sent me in February the dining room shades were included in the order and the deposit paid was applied to both the shades and the draperies for the nursery. - There has been no written or verbal communication to remove the shades from the order. I simply asked you to correct the error in the invoice to reflect the nursery would have draperies and not shades. I never asked you to take the dining room shades off the order. I have also included a screenshot of the text messages you referenced. - If you had removed the shades from the order, the amount you are requesting is not consistent with the amount from the invoice sent in February. This invoice has been included in this email. Please recheck you math and recalculate the remaining amount. - Your notes about the lining are incorrect. I told you I wanted a lining that would block light and sound and would also be safe for the nursery. The choice of hardware supports this. You suggested this hardware which would allow the curtains to block light from the front and the sides of the window. This type of rod is useless if the drapes do no block light. -I also requested pulls to open and close the drapes. There are no pulls on the drapes I received. I feel as if your focus was to sell me a very expensive fabric but no care was taken to any of the details we discussed. I would like the blackout lining added to the drapes as well as the pulls to open and close them. I should not have to pay for the incorrect lining that was added to the drapes." The owner has offered to add the batons, change the lining and uninstall and reinstall the drapes but for an additional fee.

This project started two years ago with the 1st estimated dated 11/02/2021 due to the cost they did not move forward at that time. ******* reached out to me one year later wanting to move forward with the nursery and the dining rm. We provided another estimate11/30/22 and requested a 40% deposit is required to order fabric make it and order on our books. there were a number of changes made (thus the penciled in line item).  A month after the estimate I reached out to see if she was sending a deposit  her response was "Ah yes, but to clarify the fabric for the nursery ifs for the drapes not the Roman Shades" I responded Correct that was a typo. this was a text message 12/28/22. the check for the deposit wasn't received until 2/02/23. The fabric was ordered once it arrived in our shop ******* came in looked at the fabric and was very please with it . Never asking about the dining room or the fabric. ******* came into our shop to look lining options. there was a particular brand name she wanted called **** *** A brand we Do Not Stock. We stock black out lining which would have been more profit for us However the client ******* requested a specific brand that by the way does come in blackout just not the color she needed. She gave me the ok to order. Finally the hardware was selected the hardware had a natural return so as to keep light from coming through the side. that wasn't paid for until 04/25/2023  It must be paid in full before ordering. The nursery was the only rm ******* purchased fabric for there for that was the only room we could fabricate any window treatment for. The fabric ******* viewed serval of our fabric book in varied price arranges the one she selected was expensive. We have notes on this project that date back to 9/23/21. We tried to offer solution and even offered to split the cost or reduce But we will not eat all of the cost and she still owes the remainder of the bill. We have notes that date back on this project 9/23/2021. the time ******* says her family has been waiting is do to their slow responses and payments. Please find all the Attached doc and there are more.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.

The hand written notes from the business are not reliable so I have included written correspondence.  As you can see in the attachments provided by the business, the initial order included three items, dining room shades, dining room drapes, and nursery drapes.  Her attachments also show only the stationary drapes were removed from the order, not the dining room shades.  Furthermore, she also included the invoice that shows I paid the requested 40% deposit for the dining room shades and nursery drapes. I have included text messages which include the last invoice I received from her, before she delivered the drapes, that shows both drapes and shades were to be delivered.

I am willing to forgo the dining room shades that were not delivered.

I would like the business to make the corrections to the drapes to be made with a blackout liner and pulls to open and close them.  If this correction is made, I will pay the remaining total on the latest invoice provided after the drapes were installed.
I am willing to pay the price stated in the initial invoice for the drapes for a total of $3175 and keep the drapes as is. I think this solution is very generous since this is not what I ordered and my daughter is sleeping in our attic for naps because there is too much light in her room during the day.

As a customer I should not be responsible for paying to correct the businesses mistake. I prefer to support small businesses, but this experience brings me pause.  A large corporation would have confirmed the order in writing and would have made corrections without charging to correct their error. Also, payment would have been received by them much faster if they offered a method of payment other than checks sent by mail.

      Regards,

      ******* *****

We are willing to make the corrections for the $3175 and the blackout and batons. They will need to bring the draperies to us and Pick them up. We will not uninstall or re-install without charge as they were weren't previously charged.

There may have been something on the invoice that should not have been, But Clearly ******* Knew she only paid for 1(one)

fabric and hardware for 1(one) area.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.

I would like to request for this case to be reopened due to the business not upholding the agreement made through the BBB.

The business delivered drapes that were not made using the specifications I provided to them.  Our agreement was the business would make corrections to the drapes by adding a blackout lining and rods to the drapes for a total of $3175.

I previously offered that I would either keep the drapes as is and pay the total on the initial invoice which was $3175 ($2008.40 deposit + 1166.6 remaining) or I would pay the amount on the latest invoice $2634.10, in addition to the previously paid deposit of $2008.40, if the business makes the repairs including adding the blackout lining and the rods.

The business is now asking for an additional $3175 in order to make the corrections listed above although we previously agreed the price for these corrections would be $2634.10. When I challenged her request for more money, she refused to make the corrections and now agrees to accept $1166.60 but she will not make any corrections to the drapes.

In order to close this issue and move forward, I agree to these terms and am willing to pay the remaining $1166.60 understanding the business will not make corrections to the drapes. I would like to officially reopen the case to document this change.

      Regards,
