I made a purchase of a whirlpool fridge with the intent to place the fridge in a rental property. I was told the delivery would be on Friday 3/22/24 but I was later told the delivery tech did not come into work on Friday. I called two more times and wanted to clarify if the delivery would take place on Saturday since the business was open on Saturday or Monday. (I did ask for a follow up call back to determine delivery day and time) I called the business when they opened on Saturday and did confirm the fridge would be delivered on Saturday 3/23/2024. The delivery was completed on Saturday afternoon and the renter called me on Saturday evening and told me the fridge was not cooling and the freezer did not work. I stopped by the delivery address **** ********* ** and verified the fridge was not working Saturday evening. I could not do anything until Monday morning. I stopped by the business on Monday morning and spoke to the front desk person, I was polite in person and over the phone through the entire time. She tried to call the delivery technician but he did not answer. She took my information and said she would call me back. The technician called me back and asked why I was rude to the front desk colleague. I was taken back by this comment as I did not recall being rude to any member of the business. "I was told "I made the front desk person cry" I was always nice and confused by this comment. The the delivery tech began to cuss at me and he them told me It is the responsibility of the customer to return the appliance as it states on the receipt. That section of the receipt was blurred. My main concern is why a business would not test the fridge before delivering to a customer and then accuse a customer of being mean to a staff member. (I was not) I am asking the business to pick up the unit and repair the unit. If the unit cannot be repaired I would like a refund.
