I contacted Jim K****** of Summit Roofing in April of 2021 to complete insurance approved work. Work was for new shingles on my house/garage, gutters, and a new rubber roof for a patio porch. On 7/5/22, I got a text from Jim stating that both the shingles and rubber roof would be done at the same time. On 7/11, the shingles were completed. The rubber roof was not. On 7/13, I texted Jim to ask about the rubber roof. He stated that he would get the materials ordered. On 7/21, he texted me to say that the rubber roof would be done the week of 7/25, as he was paying for the materials on 7/21. On 7/22, he stated he was going to do my rubber roof ¨regardless sometime next week¨. I didn't hear from Jim again. On 7/28, I texted him to ask when he was going to do the roof. He replied that he was waiting on materials and would probably do it the first week of August. On 8/4, I got a text stating that the materials for the roof were in and he would schedule me for the next time it wasn't raining. On 8/29, Jim told me he was going to try to schedule my patio for the first week of September. I was never put on the schedule, even though he said he paid for and had the materials. In a text from 8/12, Jim promised the patio roof would be done before fall. On 9/8, I contacted Jim again, stating my frustration that nothing was being done. At this point, Jim began to ignore all my texts and phone calls. My last correspondence from Jim was on 10/3. He refuses to address this issue and will not respond to my texts or calls. On 7/12, he was paid $12,763.94 for all three jobs, of which the rubber roof was included. On 12/8, I sent Jim a final text asking for the return of $4,694.75, the total for the outstanding work that he was paid to complete the rubber roof. Again, I got no response from him. I assume at this time that he has no intention of contacting me again or completing the work he was paid for, which amounts to nothing more than unethical work practices and stealing.
