In June 2020, I hired a licensed contractor to stain my deck. He used a Sherwin Williams product. In less than two years, the stain had begun to peel from the horizontal surfaces – the top of the rail and the deck floor. I contacted the contractor, who advised me to contact Sherwin Williams (SW). SW sent field reps to take samples in April 2024. I contacted the field rep on May 3 and was told samples had been submitted. I contacted them again on May 28. The field rep contacted the contractor and told him the problem was with the wood itself. The contractor relayed that information to me, and neither of us found that explanation satisfactory. On June 3, I heard from the field rep, who offered to provide more SW product. I was reluctant to again use a product that had failed, and I doubt that it is the wood itself – the deck is 7 years old, and the product failed only on horizontal surfaces, which indicates a failure to properly bond with the wood and seal out moisture (which doesn’t gather on vertical surfaces). I heard nothing further from the SW field representative until June 18, when SW finally offered to refund the cost of the original product purchase. The contractor as offered to repair the damage at a substantially reduced cost of $595 (which is far more than the cost of the product) and has stated he will no longer use SW product. I understand the field rep must follow corporate policy, but both the product and the customer service process and policies have been disappointing.

On 1/31/2024, I needed to buy more latex primer from the Sherwin-Williams store at the Oceanside location on **** ********* *****  On 2/1/2022 went to the Oceanside store to pick up my order. As I was walking into the store one of the employees was engaged with someone at the entrance and showing them a drawer from antique desk. The associate completely ignored me, as a customer but took the other person that was was engaging with to the back to show them a desk he was refinishing. I was the only customer inside the store and being ignored and not waited on for several while this associate was engaged in his non-business related furniture refinishing hobby. I finally spoke up because I wanted to pick up my order and leave. As a customer I didn’t feel respected but felt disregarded. I told the associate how I felt about the poor customer service and that I ordered latex primer (Order #******* dated 1/31/3024 from store ******). He started a conversation about the desk he was refinishing at your Oceanside store. He said he had taken my order and put everything in a bag. Today I when I opened the can, the product was white but very watery and discovered it was Minwax white stain and not the primer I had ordered. I was not happy because this employee was not doing his job with how he treated me as a customer and question why he gave me the wrong product, to get back at me for speaking up? I went back to the store before 11 AM to return the Minwax stain. I felt totally disrespected and did not hide my frustration for incompetence and bad customer service. The employee who gave me the wrong product on 2/1/3024 had the nerve to LIE to me and say I bought the Minwax stain. What was more insulting was manager didn’t even apologize for the inconvenience and bad service. I got the product I needed but your store treats women like their business doesn’t count. I will never know but will never do business with Sherwin-Williams again. You

I would like to provide my feedback from my recent experience in a store in Orlando, Fl. I'm a disabled homeowner & came into my local Sherwin-Williams to purchase paint for the outside of my home. I purchased 6 different colors, about 20 gallons total, a 5 gallon jug of loxon & a bunch of supplies. In the past, when I've purchased paint from walmart, Lowe's or home depot, I've always received stir sticks. So I was extremely disappointed that in my bag of supplies there were no stir sticks! I went back to the store for stir sticks, but was told they had none in stock b/c they hand them out all the time to their commercial clients. I've spent about $1,300 in total this past wk & find it completely unacceptable a paint store would not ensure they have this essential item available for customers. I'm extremely disappointed because I chose Sherwin-Williams as an all in one stop to get all of my paint supplies so I would not have to make any further trips so I could start this project right away. I would think you would stock at least one stir stick per gallon you sell... you would even have extras if a customer purchased multiple gallons of the same color & only needed one stick. I feel as a homeowner, I'm not considered as important as your commercial clients b/c they spend more money in your store. Please don't alienate your smaller homeowner clients. Word of mouth is a powerful thing. My suggestion is if you're running low on stir sticks, to call another store & "store to store" some stock, or better yet, just don't hand these out like candy to make sure you have some on hand for all customers. You could also order some on Amazon in a pinch-use a corporate credit card, overnight them to an employee's house to bring to the store. They are cheap enough & I feel this is a small expense to ensure a happy customer. I'll remember this next time I need paint. Also, as I searched online for them, I noticed all the supplies I purchased in store were much cheaper on Amazon!

Got hire by corporate and was thrilled to come on board. Then the hiring process got real weird with horrible horrible communication between myself and Cleveland BB HQ. The district Rep here in the Harrisburg area was not much better. I have used their products for years as a college painter in the summer time to having my own business as a painting contractor for 25: years. Call it "Sour Grapes that it did not go well and Zi never started the position so that's okay and I will honestly add their products are not what they use to be and take it from a professional painter as myself.

I sent over $100 on painting products at the **** * ****** ** ******* ** ***** ****** *****s . I paid with my Apple Cash on my phone. I came back to return at the same store with my original receipt and they will not refund my money without a physical card but did not use a physical card to purchase. I will never shop here again and will not recommend it to anyone.

Very hard to deal with the customer service at Valspar. Took a month to at least get some compensation after having to contact customer service three weeks after I was told I was going to get check, supposedly the customer service rep forgot to submit refund request. Then I was told Valspar would compensate me for $136.00 but would take another 10+ working days. Finally was told my check would be expedited and I received a check today, Valspar/sherwin Williams only sent $68.00. I repeatedly asked to hear from a supervisor and never received a response. Feel very much like I have been scammed. Valspar used to supply quality paint but I will never purchase another item from them or any sherwin williams company,

I made several phone calls to the corporate office regarding well known and s************** ******** ******** ****** ******. Each and every phone call was an immediate hang up without identifying the company. This leads me to believe they support the actions of this person. I have done a lot of business in the past with Sherwin Williams but no longer. There is other competition where all of us can do business without supporting this type of flagrant racism.

As a contractor, I used Sherwin Williams for almost 100k in materials purchases. And I fell into a personal life situation. And they would work with me over 1,400 dollars. When I had spent close to 100k with their stores. And very unfair and unfriendly. They became harassing and sent me to collections even when they agreed not to if I made the minimum payment. I did. And they still sent me to collections. I will never use them again. They don't support Veteran business owners. Now will use other painting stores.
