I was told when I made my appointment that my insurance covered the procedure 100%. When I arrived and prior to my treatment, I asked Dr. A**** again before he did anything if I had any co-pay. I was again told "no, you have no co-pay and are covered 100%" I was also told by Dr. A**** that "I have great insurance" I just got off the phone with Cresta Dental and disputed a $150 bill I received. I was told, "well, we only guestimate" I will agree to pay Cresta Dental the amount of $150 and then will file a smalls claim to recover my moneyBusiness response

*** ******** ID: ********Code **************Good afternoon,The patient, ****** ********, complaint stated that he was told his procedure would be covered 100% and that he didn't have a copay but after his claim went through insurance, his insurance left him with a balance from his visit. His claim went out for $379, and insurance left him with a balance of $150. He wrote in the complaint that he would pay the balance and then file a small claim to recover his money. The patient was only seen for a consult and CBCT Xray on 9/27/23. No other treatment was done. Patient signed his treatment plan and all office consent forms that all costs are estimates only until the insurance pays. Any balance left by his insurance is his responsibility to pay. All documents are attached. Thank youLori R*******| DDC Endodontics & Cresta Dental Implants|Office Manager

The Financial Policy Notice & Disclosure was initialed and accepted with the understanding I was having further procedures. Again, before I confirmed my visit, I was told explicitly that my CT capture scan was covered 100%. If there was any question regarding my 100% coverage, I would have contacted my insurance company for pre-approval. I also reconfirmed with Dr. A**** during the consultation that I was 100% covered and he told me "I have great insurance and enough remaining to cover my procedure 100%" He did mention that Cresta only implants the post, and the top would be completed at Refresh dental, and I may have co-pay with Refresh Dental.Should Cresta remove this charge of $150, I will remove my complaint and have no further dealings with this company.

We received ***s comments regarding our response. Again, everything that was provided to the patient states it is an estimate only. Any balances due that are not paid by the insurance are the patient's responsibility to pay. Nothing said or written is a guarantee. We provide estimates only. The patient stated several times that Dr. A*** mentioned he had great insurance and that his procedure would be covered 100%. Dr. A*** was not referring to the consult cost, he was referring to the procedure itself which in this case was the implant procedure that was treatment planned. According to the patient's online portal through his insurance (shown below) it does state the implant would be covered at 100% which is great coverage. This means out of $2,100 the patient is estimated to pay $0 for the implant. Unfortunately, before procedures begin, we do have to have consultations and x-rays done. We do our best to provide the best estimates possible, but everything is in the insurances hands after the claims are sent. Thank youCustomer response

I am at an impasse with Cresta Dental - I will proceed with my complaint to all social media’s, warn my coworkers and benefit directors within the United Steelworkers of America, and warn all my family and friends of Cresta.
