Sold a car to me with a frame that was stated to be clean nice frame and underside whereas it is a rusted-out piece of steel with holes and patchwork welded pieces. Also please see attachment for further details of problems and deceptive claims of the excellent shape the car is in.

**** ***** **** was purchased on 8-31-21 and was represented as a complete restoration, nothing needing to be done, except a new ss interior. This car is not even close to being a complete restoration! Coming off of the delivery truck it needed a new battery to start with. The heater core had to be replaced. Drivers side exhaust wasnt even hooked up and was extremely loud. The passenger side exhaust also had to fixed. The clutch pedal was binding up and broke on the second time it was driven. A hydraulic clutch had to be installed and a brand new clutch. The 4 speed linkage had to be reversed as it had been installed backwards. The electrical system had to be completely overhauled. Only the headlights worked. The power steering had to be rebuilt as it was leaking and the housing was cracked so that it had to be replaced. Windshield wipers worked backwards and had to be reversed. Now the transmission (M21)has to be rebuilt or replaced. All the seals are leaking. I have not even put 50 miles on the car so far. I am scared to drive it for fear that one more thing is going to break. So far, I have invested over $7,000.00 into a car that was supposed to be a complete restoration, "put the key and drive" as it was explained to me. The Transmission will now either need to be rebuilt or replaced with an approx cost of $5000.00.

I apologize for not responding. I didn’t know this complaint existed?

This complaint is full of lies and completely an attempt to harm my business. I have 3 videos disproving all he is saying. How to I get them to you so we can close this complaint and people can see the real truth

Please let me know thanks Dan

      Better Business Bureau:

We have invested over 7k so far on this vehicle that was supposed to be fully restored and turn key and drive. In the video you can see we had to replace the battery (because this was dead on arrival, and could not be charged), we have replaced the heater core since it was constantly leaking, we have had to fix windshield wipers since it was going in reverse and added the missing hardware for windshield wiper washer, we had to repair valve covers in order to keep out dirt from entering the valves, and  we also had to have the electrical (turn signals, break lights, and backup lights). Also in the video attached you can hear the sound difference when driving since the exhaust system was not fully hooked up. On his video you can hear the forcing of the shifter into gear, once we replaced the clutch with a hydraulic clutch you can hear the smoot shift vs the forced shift.

As you can see from the previous attached documents we also had to repair the power steering since the power steering housing was cracked. As you can see from the eBay add in the documentation we have provided earlier the add describes the vehicle as "complete restoration".

As you can see from the other attachment this is not the only time this has occurred with this seller, and others have warned about this seller selling cars that are misrepresented.

We would be willing to accept 5k in reimbursement in order to recoup some of the losses, as this was not turn key as described.

      Regards,

To Start I Would Like To Clear Up These False Claims And Say There Was Absolutely No Intentional Or Unintentional Misrepresentation.    Also Please Note I Have 3 Running And Driving Videos Of The Car Prior To Shipping Available By Request   And They Clearly Show The Normal Sounds Of A Nice Muscle Car With Dual Exhaust And A V8 Engine……Sounds Awesome!…..Nothing Loud Or Out Of Place..If A Exhaust Pipe Wasn’t Hooked Up As He Claims It Would Be Very Loud And Obnoxious In The Videos….The Driving Video Is Me Personally Driving The Car The Day Or Day Before Shipping And Clearly Shows Starting, Running And Shifting Fine.  Shows It Going Down Road And Driving Great! I had no issues

If The Clutch Was Bad And Binding Or The Transmission  Was Bad Or The Electric System Was All Bad Or The Power Steering Was Bad And All Seals Bad…There Is absolutely No way I Could Have Drove The Car Shifted The Car Stopped The Car Or Steered The Car!?

Then On Top Of To It All These Old Car Use Normal Inexpensive Mechanical Clutches…Maybe $400-$450 To Repair If Needed, But Again it Shifted Excellent Every-Time I Drove It .  So For Him To Put In A $2000 Hydraulic Clutch Because He Maybe Liked And Then Try To Charge Me?

Also I Never Once In My Ads Stated “Nothing Needing To Be Done”  I have a personal collection of over 20 60’s-70’s muscle cars…they typically always need something.    Also He States Has Not Even Driven It 50 Miles Yet?  Yet His Complaint Info Shows 102 Miles Have Been Put On The Car? The Battery Had No Issues, The Shipper Had Started It And Drove It To His Truck Just A Day Or Two Prior To Delivery.  Maybe Shipper Left Lights Or Key On?

also shippers have to park about mile up the road then come down to car and drive it to their truck……further proof it ran drove and shifted ok or it would have not been able to be picked up by shipper and driven by shipper up to their truck

We would like to submit a letter that was requested from the first mechanic to work on the car after it was delivered.  We will be submitting another letter as soon as we receive it from another mechanic that also worked on the car.  He is a vintage car specialist at a local automotive repair company.

To be clear, the ad submitted for the **** **** was represented as a complete restoration.  And I quote " Gorgeous **** **** with SS trim, 327 engine, 4spd, PS  PDB, Buckets, Super solid Laser straight, Excellent quality, complete restoration, Beautiful Marina Blue paint"   I was in contact with Mr. P********* when inquiring about the condition of the car and specifically asked him, more than once, if there was anything that needed to be done on the car.  He assured me that all I needed to do is put an SS interior to complete the Clone.  I was told all that I needed to do was turn the key and drive.

      To Whom It May Concern:

I am the owner of ***** *** ****** and have worked on and repaired ****** *********** vehicles for several years.

****** ********* brought a **** ********* **** for me to check over after he purchased the vehicle.  Upon inspecting the vehicle, the first thing

I noticed was that none of the door seams or hood seems were even or lined up as they should in a quality restoration.  Other items that I noticed and
brought to *** *********** attention was as follows.  Both of the valve covers had holes in them where there should have been oil fill and PCV.  There was a
strong coolant smell in the interior of the vehicle indicating a heater core was leaking.  The exhaust on the drivers side was not hooked up and when it was, it interfered
with the clutch linkage.  The passenger side was loose, and both sides had the wrong exhaust gaskets in them to seal them.  The electrical was not hooked up
correctly for example the wipers would not work, and the lights in the dash were not operating as they should have.  The choke of the carburetor was not working
either in the automatic mode or manual mode.  In looking under the vehicle the exhaust was not secured at the rear of the system, the air shocks were leaking
and the air fill valve for them was not secured.  In trying to drive the vehicle the gears would not shift correctly which was caused by the shift linkage being
installed with the linage rods being installed upside down.  The clutch was not smooth as it should have been and in-fact broke while it was being driven.

As a repair facility, I replaced the heater core, repaired and hooked up the exhaust with the correct gaskets so that the exhaust sealed properly.

I also replaced the clutch assembly along with installing an upgraded hydraulic clutch system and hooked up the linkage correctly so that it shifted into the
      proper gearing when driving.

In my opinion and as a service manager and repair technician, this vehicle was not anywhere close to being restored.  It was a lame attempt to

hurry and put the vehicle on the road.  Also, as a State of **** Vehicle Safety Inspector and a former police officer, this vehicle in my opinion was not safe to drive
when it was brought to me.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

Also every car I sell is at my shop and fully available to for the customer or their mechanic or both to come and full inspect the entire car to be absolutely sure it fits their expectations and I high encourage all potential buyers look it over in person….I didn’t restore this car or own it since new so i have no control over how  it was restored or used for last 50 years   these cars are 50 years old. Been owners buy many different people. Been worked on and restored by many different people at many varying levels, so there condition is high subjective as to what each person may see as ok or not ok…one guy will love something…another guy will hate it.  But this is easily resolved buy the buyer getting up and spending the time and money to come look at bring their expert mechanic or whatever so they are fully satisfied…...so that is why I have every car at my shop available to be fully inspected  prior to purchase so the buyer can be sure it will satisfy them. I also provide a bill of sale that clearly states AS-IS condition but they have been given the opportunity to fully review cars condition…I want happy satisfied customers to own and enjoy and keep this awesome hobby going.  See attached copy of signed bill of sale that ****** ********* signed

if anyone wants copies of the 3 running and driving videos that clearly discount these false accusations please call or email me and I will happily send them.

In the ad it said that the car was a complete restoration.  The seller, if he is such a knowledgable car enthusiast, should have been able to see that the car was no where near a complete restoration as the ad stated.  As it stands, the car has already had 7200.00 put into it just to get it running.  It needs much more work to get it closer to a full restoration.  The worst part of all of this is that I trusted this so called professional and took him at his word that the car needed no work. I asked repeatedly what work still needed to be done, and was assured that all I needed to do is turn the key and drive, and that an SS interior would make this clone complete.
