There was an open call to artists about exhibiting in the Ohio state fair in a ************* from studio 18 on July 23, 2024. I went to their website and sent them samples of my work via email. I got a reply asking for "everything", so on Friday July 26th, 2024 I brought a total of 23 pieces and ************* a portfolio. I inventoried what I left (because they had no record keeping, which should have been my first clue), as well as took a picture of that inventory with a geo location and timestamp. It was then that I also was charged $35 for the privilege of displaying my work.The display was going up from July 28th-July 31st. I expected a call on Thursday, Aug 1st with pickup instructions. That call never came. On Tuesday, Aug. 6th, 2024 I drove to Studio 18 to get some answers. ****, the manager told me he had no idea where any of my art was and that only *********************** (owner) knew; but that she was out of town. He said he would text her and have an answer the next day.Another week goes by with no word from anyone at Studio 18. Not ONCE have they reached out with any updates throughout this whole process. I texted **** asking again where my art was. He said he wasn't at the gallery and that he was actually at dinner with his family. The only time I ever get a text from them and it's to say that they can't talk. Then, ghosted again.I have never been privy to unprofessionalism at this level. This all could have been avoided with basic accountability and communicating reasonable expectations. Now, I'm missing out on another opportunity to display my work at a real gallery because these children are playing art gallery.the total value of the art as was set when inventoried is: $4,115.00Customer response

Studio 18 reached out and has returned all of the materials. It seems all it took was for them to see that I was serious about getting my art back. Thank you for your help I will utilize the BBB more in the future.
