My car was misdiagnosed and I was charged for repairs that still occur.Customer response

My car was misdiagnosed. I was told I needed new Cam sensors also solenoid’s. I paid almost $1200 for them to fix that which wasn’t even the issue. I had to get it diagnosed again just for them to tell me it was the timing chain. I then took it to ****** and They informed me that If it was diagnosed correctly the first time they would have known it was the timing chain in the first place. The repairs for the chain are approximately $4600. The $1200 I wasted on the first repair does not even go towards that.

****** ********* BROUGHT IN HER JAGUAR F-PACE ON 7.19.23 FOR DIAGNOSTIC FOR
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON . . SEE DOCUMENT ti 1 SIGNED ESTIMATE.
WE PERFORMED A BASIC DIAGNOSTIC, WE RESET AND CLEARED CODES AND RERAN THE
DIAGNOSTIC. WE FOUND CODE P0366-00; NO SIGNAL FROM CAM SENSOR, CAM SENSOR BAD
WE RECOMMENDED TO REPLACE THE EXHAUST CAM SENSOR MAGNET AND THE EXHAUST
CAM SENSOR,SOLENOID AND RECHECK. SEE DOCUMENT # 2 WE ALSO HAD A CODE FOR THE
RADIATOR SHUTTER STUCK CLOSED. THIS WAS AT 73,171 MILES. SEE DIAG REPORT
DOCUMENT # 3, AT THIS TIME, Wf:. COULD NOT DETERMINE ANY TIMING ISSUES BECAUSE OF
NO SIGNAL FROM THE EXHAUST CAM SENSOR,
ON 8.21.23 ****** BROUGHT THE JAGUAR IN FOR CAM SENSOR AND SOLENOID, SEE
DOCUMENT # 4 SIGNED ESTIMATE. THIS WAS A MONTH LATER, 2,000 MILES LATER,
WE INSTALLED BOTH PARTS, SEE INVOICE DOCUMENT # 5. * NOTE THAT WE RESET AND RERAN
THE DIAGNOSTIC AND NOW WE HAD A SIGNAL FROM THE CAMSHAFT AFTER THE
REPLACEIVIENT OF THE SENSOR. AND WE WERE ABLE THEN TO DETERMINE THE CAMS TIMING
WAS OUT OF SPECS. WE THEN RECOMMENDED TO REPLACE ALL THE TIMING COMPONENTS.
THIS is A BIG JOB AND REQUIRES PULLING THE MOTOR AS THE TIMING COMPONENTS ARE
BETWEEN THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION. WE ALSO RECOMIVIENDED NOT DRIVING THE
JAGUAR AS IT COULD DAMAGE THE ENGINE - SHE REFUSED.' THE PARTS, CAM SOLENOID AND
THE LABOR ARE SWITCHED ON THE INVOICE. IT WAS A TYPII\lG ERROR; IT IS CORRECTED ON
INVOICE #6.
WE HAD PREORDERED THE SOLENOID AND SENSOR FROM MAG, SEE MAG INVOICE # 5B. WE
DID SOLENOID AND SENSOR, SEE PICTURE #7. WE STILL HAVE OLD PARTS.
ON ABOUT SEPT 7,2023 ****** TOOK THE JAGUAR TO ******* JAGUAR FOR A DIAGNOSTIC.
******* WAS ABLE TO CONFIRM OUR DIAGNOSIS THAT THE JAGUAR NEEDED TIMEING
COMPOI\IENTS REPLACED. NOTE THAT ******* WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO THIS IF
WE HAD NOT REPLACED THE SENSOR AND SOLENOID AS THERE~AS NO SIGNAL FROM THE - ~- .---~
EXHAUST C~M BEFORE WE REPLACED THE PARTS.
LATER THE SAME DAY, ****** CALLED ME AND SAID THAT SHE TOOK THE CAR TO *******
FOR DIAG AND ****** SAID THAT **** AT ******* SAID THAT WE DID NOT DO ANY WORK
fo HER CAR AND SAI D WE DID NOT FIX THE CAR PROPERLY. I ASKED HER TO GIVE US A COPY
OF ******* DIAGNOSTICS. SHE BROUGHT IT TO ME. SEE ******* INVOICES 8,9,10. I ..".~
" IMMEDIATELY CALLED **** AT ******* AND TOLD **** WHAT ****** SAID. **** SAID HE
DID NOT SAY THAT AT ALL. **** STATED THAT HE SIMPLY CONFIRMED OUR DIAGNOSIS AND ,
QUOTED TO ****** $3,500.00 TO REPLACE THE REAR UPPER CHAIN AND TIMII\lG SOME CHAIN
COMPONENTS.

WE HAD ORIGINALLY QUOTED THE COMPLETE JOB AT $4,600.00 AS WE WERE ALSO GOING TO
REPLACE THE ~OWER CHAIN WHILE APART. (******* DID NOT QUOTE WITH LOWER CHAIN
REPLACEMENT.)
****** CALLED ME AROUND FRIDAY AND SAID THAT SHE TOOK THE CAR TO ******
IMPORTS,AI\ID THE OWNER S~ID THAT WE DID NOT DO THE REPAIRS THAT WE CHARGED HER
FOR. I CALLED ****** IMPORTS, THE OWNER, ***, 614-262-1522. HE SAID THAT HE
COI\IFIRMED OUR DIAGNOSTIC AND THAT ****** HAD THEM PULL THE ENGINE AND REPLACE
BOTH CHAINS AND MOST OF THE TIMING COMPONENTS. THEY CHARGED HER ABOUT ~ .
$5,300.00 SO THEY MAY HAVE FOUND MORE WORN PARTS. ****** DID NOT TELL ME THAT
THEY WERE DOING THE TIMING (HAIN JOB.
SO, ****** FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB AND ASKS US TO DO THE TIMING CHAIN JOB AT
NOCHARGE, BECAUSE SHE THINKS WE MISDIAGNOSED THE CAR ORIGINALLY WHICH IS
OBVIOUSLY NOT THE CASE. I PERSONALLY SPENT A LOT OF TtMING TALKING TO ****** TRYING
TO EXPLAIN WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH THE ENGINE BUT SHE DID NOT UNDERSTAND.
ALSO, PER ******'S REQUEST, WE RECHECKED OUR WORK AND WE REAN THE DIAGNOSTIC
AGAIN AT NO CHARCiE.
THE 4 CYL ENGINE IS NOT JAGUARS' BEST ENGINE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU DO NOT DO THE NEEDED
OIL/FILTER CHANGES AND OTHER MAINTANCE.
I UNDERSTAND ******S FRUSTRATIONS WITH THE CAR BUT WE DID OUR WORK PROPERLY.

I paid this business to repair my Range Rover sport and they did not do that They stated to me That my engine needed To be replaced and told me they couldn't get it started all they had to do was program my pedal which they said they did got my vehicle back my pedal still would not work also they told me the engine needed to be replaced turned out my spark plugs was the reason also my field pump went bad which basically caused my truck not to startBusiness response

***** BROUGHT IN THE ROVER FOR DIAGNOSTIC ONLY, BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT START.
REFER TO THE INVOICE AHACHED, WE DID A BASIC DIAG AND FOUND VERY LITTLE COMPRESSION AS THE ROVER APPEARED TO HAVE BEEN OVERHEATED AND SUSTAINED ENGINE DAMAGE. I CALLED ***** AND.HE SAID IT WAS JUST OUT OF GAS, WE ADDED GAS AND STILL NO START. ***** CAME UP AI\JD ADDED MORE GAS AND STILL NO START.***** ASKED US TO GO FURTHER, WE PULLED PLUGS AND VERIFIED VERY LOW COMPRESSION AND USED A SCOPE TO LOOK INTO THE CYLINDERS, SEE AHACHED PICTURES AS YOU CAN SEE THE Severe ENGINE,DAMAGE. ALSO HAD WATE-R IN THE CYLINDERS AND A LOT OF RUST. WE RECOMMENDED EI\JGINE TEARDOWN AND OR REPLACE ENGINE, CUSTOMER DECLINED. ***** ASKED US TO REINSTALL THE PLUGS AND REASSEMBLE THE OTHER PARTS REMOVED FOR INSPECTION, WE HAD TO TOW THE CAR BACK INTO THE SHOP TO DO THIS AND TOW IT BACK OUTTO THE STORAGE LOT.
WE LET THE CAR STORE ON OUR LOT FOR 5 MONTHS WITHOUT CHARGE TO *****. ***** CAME IN AND SAID HE DID NOT WANT TO PAY US BECAUSE WE DID NOT GET THE CAR RUNNII\JG. ***** SAID HE HAS A PLUMBING BUSINESS, ***** ******* ******** ** ****** ****, AND HE KNOWS ABOUT CARS, HE SAID THAT WE DID NOT KNOW WHAT WE WERE DOING . ***** FINALLY PAID THE BILL AND PICKED UP THE CAR AFTER I EXPLAINED TO HIM WHAT WE FOUND.
***** STATED TO THE BBB THAT: "HE PAID US TO REPAIR HIS ROVER" NOT TRUE, SEE INVOICE, HE ONLY PAID US TO DO DIAGNOSTICs AND WE DID THAT, IT HAS 243,675 MILES ON THE ROVER AND IT NEEDS AN ENGINE.
***** STATEd TO THE BBB THAT: "THE ENGINE DID NOT NEED REPLACED" NOT TRUE, SEE 3" PICTURES AHACHED OF SEVERE CYLINDER DAMAGE, MOST ROVERS DO NOT MAKE IT THIS FAR WITHOUT A ENGINE REPL.ACEMENT.
***** STATED TO THE BBB THAT: "ALL WE HAD TO DO WAS PROGRAM THE GAS PEDAL AND IT WOULD START" NOT TRUE, ON THIS PARTICULAR ROVER, THE PEDAL IS NOT PROGRAMABLE WHEN REPLACED, IT IS JUST A SIIVIPLE REPLACEMEI\JT, SEE ATIACHED PRINTOUT FROM ******** ON DEMAND DOCUMENTING THE PROCEDURE.
***** STATED TO THE 8BB THAT: ((HIS SPARK PLUGS WERE THE REASON IT WOULD NO,T START" NOT TRUE, SPARK PLUGS I'LL LOOKED WORN BUT OK AND ENGINE WOULD NOT START AFTER WE REINSTALLED THEM, ***** CAME UP AFTER REINSTALL AND TRIED IT HIM SELF AND IT WOULD NOT START.
***** STATED TO THE BBB THAT: "HIS FUEL PUMP WAS BAD AND CAUSED THE TRUCK TO NOT START" NOT TRUE AS ON THE DIAGNOSTICS WE ALWAYS HAD ADEQUATE FUEL PRESSURE.
***** CALLED ME A FEW DAYS AGO AND ASKED FOR A REFUND BECAUSE THE ROVER RUNS FINE NOW AFTER PROGRAMING THE PEDAL (WHICH IS NOT POSSIB~E) SO I TOLD HIM TO DRIVE IT UP AND LET ME SEE IT, HE SAID NO BECAUSE HE SOLD IT. I SAID GIVE ME THE NUMBER OF THE GUY THAT BOUGHT IT AND I WOULD CALL HIM, HE GAVE ME A NUMBER THAT WAS NO GOOD. I SAID GIVE ME A COpy OF THE 131LL AND I WOULD CALL THE SHOP, SEE ATIACHED, THE PHONE NUMBER IS NO GOOD, THE ADDRESS IS NO GOOD, IT IS IN THE MIDDLE qF A INTERSECTION, OBVIOUSLY A FAKE INVOICE PRINTED ON HIS CELL PHONE AS YOU CAN SEtON TOP OF THE INVOICE THAT HE IS IN PREVIEW MODE AFTER EDIT MODE AS HE IS CREATING THE INVOICE. THE DESCRIPTION HE MADE OF THE REPAIRS IS NOT CORRECT EVEN IF THIS ROVER PEDAL WAS PROGRAMMABLE. NOTE THAT ON HIS REQUEST, WE TRIED TO PROGRAM IT AND COULD NOT AND WE DID NOT CHARGE HIM FOR THE ATIEMPT.
HE ALSO POSTED A PICTURE OF A ENGINE AND A HAMMER ON OUR GOOGLE PICTURES PAGE ;.THAT IS ALSO FAKE THAT I NOW HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF.
SINCE THIS I,S OBVIOUSLY A FAI(E CLAIM I WOULD REQUEST PLEASE THAT THIS COMPLAINT BE REMOVED.
