Description:The consumer paid to have her car repaired and it broke off the car and now has $10,000 worth of repairs to be made. The repair was made with used parts when she was charged for new parts. The consumer says the used parts caused the issues and the repair shop is denying responsibility.

On April 18, 2023, we installed a refurbished front differential assembly part number **************. The vehicles mileage at the time of service was ******* miles. The price of a new differential assembly is $2524.08 which she advised that she could not afford. At that time, we provided the refurbished differential for $350. This part did come with a full 1 year and/or 12,000-mile warranty whichever occurs first. On January *******, she complained of front-end wobble and were outside the warranty coverage by ****** miles due to your mileage being *******. Even though she was out of warranty, we inspected her car at that time and advised her that the front drivers tire had a broken belt, and the car was unsafe to drive. On April 24, 2024, she brought her vehicle back in for alternator repair. At this time, she was still driving with bald unsafe tires, and her mileage was now ******* and made no mention of any other problems. Please provide any documentation stating we caused any damage. **Bald unsafe tires could lead to differential failure on AWD vehicles**

First of all I was never notified that a refurbished part was being put on my car and I never told them I could not afford a new part that conversation never took place and they are lying about that they just put the part on there without my knowledge that is a lie. On behalf of Hughes automotive you are lying that I agreed for you to put a used refurbished part on my car. I did not agree to that in that conversation never took place. I am attaching all of my records and all of the money that I have spent with Hughes automotive and everything that I paid for you to cover failed on the inspection attack so all the money that was given to you ..my car was never fixed properly and please review inspection carefully and please review all of my receipts carefully it will reflect that everything showed up on the inspection we're not repaired

I am rejecting the response because Hughes automotive should be held responsible for putting a bad part on my car in the park feeling in my car being broke down now as we speak and not able to drive.

Car is not paid for yet and is sitting and not repaired!

Do the right thing by your customer and fix the car correctly.

The integrity of your business is at stake here. I will make sure that everyone knows not to take their car to Hughes automotive for repair .I am going  on social media to make sure no else has to deal with this situation again.

I will make sure of that!

Hughes automotive claims a new rebuilt engine last year of September once time I received the car back the car was making a lot of noise after having it for three months he fixed it again it took a couple days he never told me what the problem was eight or nine months later My timing belt goes out and I paid him $2500 out of pocket and he exhausted my warranty when it was active. I've had two diagnostic from two auto shops they stated it was in fact my timing belt. **** claims he took a look and it's not my timing belt just because he doesn't want to be responsible for replacing the timing belt after i paid him to put the new engine in. When i called to ask a question about my vehicle he's rude and uptight. This not a good way to treat a customer. I keep asking for receipts and still haven't received any.

The only receipt that was given to me.

Hughes automotive are not holding themselves accountable. I never refused to pay the diagnostic fee and its very distasteful **** is putting this facade on. He was very rude to me and another gentleman which i do believe he recorded **** reaction he stated he didn't want to work on the vehicle in the first place which is very rude. He stated i was being combative because i asked him if you put a new timing belt into my vehicle and returned the vehicle to me in September how did my timing belt go out less than a year. My vehicle has not been in working condition since august of 2022. They keep mentioning the Warranty when i spoke with **** informed him i was aware it was out of warranty. The fact of this matter is the performed terrible work on my vehicle he states he have receipts for buying a new timing chain but couldn't provide those documents to me at all.

I also stated that the vehicle was in my mothers name whom passed away. My mother passed away after the vehicle was down and they still proceeded to act as if my mother was alive  and charge my mothers warranty contract.  Its no way they got paid 8000 for this job and my car is broke down within a year they have to make sense of this. Also **** told me to tow my vehicle off the lot because he didn't want to work on it anymore i didn't choose to have my vehicle towed.

My vehicle was able to start but it couldn’t stay on, so we had the vehicle towed to Hughes Automotive Import in December 2021. I called many times to find out when the car would be ready and they claimed they were waiting on parts. Finally, I called again and then they said they can’t fix the car, so I went there to pick up the car on Jan 13, 2022. The business told me they couldn’t fix the car but still wanted to charge me $838.51. He said I couldn’t have my car until I paid. So, I paid and when I went out to my car it was destroyed. Here are pictures of how they left the car. The car wouldn’t start at all. They wrecked my car and not sure how someone could pay over $800 for nothing.

Mr. ***** OK'd $1000 by phone to begin work on his BMW.  We found water damage in several modules including the ECM under the hood and modules in the trunk that relate to power distribution.  We found the car in a no start condition and signs of having sit for a length of time.  We had taken apart the car to test different modules.  **** called Mr. ***** and relayed the news that if we continue fixing the car, we would need more money promised, we had spent the first $1000 in just what we found that needed replaced.  We replaced a module in the trunk and the ECM.  The rear power distributor wasn't working I imagine due to moister, and can only be repaired by replacement.  Mr ***** decided, rather emotionally, that he didn't want to go any further with the repair.  He took pictures of his car at that time and left with our assurance that we would put it back together for him.  We did and gave him his parts.  It's not possible to determine what fixes are needed in a car until we take a look and replace obviously bad parts, especially the Engine Control Module (ECM).  I worked personally on the car for about a week, but did not charge this or the retail of the parts we bought.  I feel we don't owe Mr. ***** anything.
