American Construction failed to produce the contracted results and materials related to the work scope on time and within budget. Bill, the owner, was unprofessional both in communication and interaction. He failed to communicate progress updates/plans. Employees of American construction under Bill's supervision stole from our residence ($500.00 worth of golf shoes, $200.00 worth of clothing ordered from Amazon). Further details: Contracted timeline was 8 weeks. We are currently at 36 weeks with outstanding work including but not limited to: baseboards, tiling/grout, stairs, paint, quartz, pocket doors, bar sink/refrigerator installation, and built in shelving. Bill has evaded conversation/communication regarding status of timeline for 16+ weeks. His reasoning for the delays have included (but not limited to) : Sick with Covid twice, death/sick dog, stitches in finger, turned ankle, busy at other locations, on last minute vacation in the outer banks, stuck without transportation in put-in-bay. All further delaying timeline by months with no follow-up plan or prior communication. We have proof of these interactions all through text. We currently have 6K in materials (Quartz for countertops, pocket doors, baseboards, wood for built-ins, etc.) that Bill has failed to produce materials and/or invoices for in 20+ weeks. We are working with ******** ******* to stop payment for the $1200.00 worth of quartz that we paid by card. Bill was paid via check for the rest. We have asked him to produce the materials and/or invoices from the company he ordered the materials from over 20 times across 10 weeks with no result. He has said that the quartz broke and is on backorder and the pocket doors were delivered to the wrong address, which is why we asked him for proof of purchase. Attached: Contract and Proof of the communication concerns with professionalism and materials. We are honest, hardworking people. PLEASE HELP.
