On October 8th, 2023, I had a tooth injury that required emergency extraction. I sought emergency care and received the care necessary. Due to the emergency occurring on a weekend Beam dental was not available to establish payment to the dentist i was forced to pay the entire amount upfront. when the paperwork was fled with Beam Dental, they have refused to pay the claim except for a very small amount. they continued to list the extraction as simple when the narrative states that it was in fact an impacted tooth and a portion of the bone had to be removed to fully extract. this rises to the level of a complicated extraction, and they refuse to adjust. I am seeking at least the upgrade to the complicated extraction at the very least. $494.00Initial Complaint

Insurance isn't processing claims have been on Hold for over 2 years on some, one was rejected at the claim I should have just lived with a crack in my tooth with pain and wasn't severe enough to pay claim. Not sure when a under writer became a dentist but I was the one in pain, not them.Initial Complaint

I have been paying for this insurance going on a year now, I have gone to the dentist for one cleaning and to replace a cap on my tooth that was done about 8+ years prior. I was told by my dentists office that my insurance would cover half the cost upwards of $750 dollars so I paid the other half. Almost a year later I am now getting called by my dentists office stating they just can not get Beam to pay for anything. Beam agent Trey keeps asking for additional information stating they can not approve the payment until we provide the requested information and myself and the dentist office follow through and provide what they are asking for every time. However, after we provide documentation, that they asked for, they tell us yet again that they still need something else to approve it. This company is a joke and you are wasting your money paying for insurance that you will never be able to actually use. It would literally be cheaper if I had just paid out of pocket for the service as it now looks like I will be doing that anyways plus a year of insurance payments.Initial Complaint

At the beginning of 2023 I had 2 crowns done. Ever since then, they have been refusing to cover their part of the dental procedure. They repeat the same thing over and over to me about not getting information from dental provider. They then tell me to have my provider to contact them. The dental provider has sent everything, multiple times, and spoke with a rep directly who they sent info to. Since then, for last few months they have gone completely silent with my provider and will no longer communicate with them. They have been completely ghosted. These actions by Beam Insurance will result in my paying thousands out of my pocket. This dental company should be avoided by providers.Initial Complaint

My spouse and I have Beam dental insurance through my spouse's employer. We chose a dental provider based on the information provided by Beam and listed on their provider search directory. The dental office we chose is listed as in-network.
After completing services with the dental office we were informed that the dental provider does not actually have any in-network contracts with Beam and that services were provided at an out-of-network rate, resulting in over $3000 owed out of pocket. The dental office billing personnel told us they have tried to contact Beam multiple times to fix this issue as being listed as in-network but they cannot get a response back from Beam.
I have contacted Beam's customer service multiple times about this issue and am told they will look into it over and over again. I have never actually received an answer about this issue. I have provided Beam screenshots of their own website showing the dental office as listed in-network as well as the estimates they provided for services vs. what the dental office actually charged. In the end we (the consumers) are left with an extra $2,000 owed out of pocket.
Beam has no interest is fixing this issue or providing us support in the out-of-network charges. We trusted that this insurance company would actually know which dental offices are contracted in their network and which ones are not. They provided us with incorrect information and then refuse to acknowledge that their misinformation was the result of us having to pay the dental office almost double what we had been estimated.

The point of Beam Dental is to get your brush that connects to an app to track your brushing. As you do more and more you accrue points for benefits, toothpaste, other accessories for your brushing and dental health needs. They took 7 months to send me the brush saying my information was complete, which was not true. They had all of my information, as they were charging me every month. You are also supposed to get a thing of toothpaste with the brush, but apparently they ran out? This entire thing seems like a SCAM. I asked repeatedly for help, and for months they told me they could not find my contract number. Then asked for my SSN, which I did not give because they definitely have that information. They finally said oh it was a system error we found your account. I just keep getting red flags, this company does NOT provide me what was intended.Initial Complaint

Beam stated that my dentist was in the network on its website. Upon visiting the dentist, I was told the office doesn't process claims for Beam and that I was responsible for paying in full and then submitting a claim. Beam had no manner in which to submit a claim via its app or website and I received a PDF document to complete to file a claim. As a consumer, I have no knowledge of medical coding and they refuse to provide any assistance with the completion of the form yet rejected my completed form even though I also included full documentation of what service I received from the dentist. Now, they won't respond to my outreach. Beam Dental is an absolute nightmare.
