i only have an issue with their billing dept. i was very happy with the care I received from the doctor and nurses. However whatever you do don't overpay them! I received a bill for the balance due on Feb.21, 2024 and sent a check for the full amount on 2/21/24. I then received a late notice in March, so I called and was told they did not receive my check. I paid it using a credit card on 3/19/24. On April 26th, they cashed my check. Called on 4/29 and it was acknowledged by Jessica that they did get a double payment. She will tell **** *** who will check into this and someone will call me back. No call back. Called again on May 2nd and was told by ***** that a doctor has to approve the refund and that will happen next Tuesday May 7th. It is now May 24th and still no refund. I have sent 3 messages this week about it and no response there either. So there you go....$247.00!Review from Victoria H

While my doctors and the nurses at Ohio Gastro have been fantastic (this review does absolutely not reflect them), billing is an absolute nightmare. I have been waiting on a refund for MONTHS. Every time I call I am told it will be processed with “the next batch.” However, nobody can tell me the date of the next batch. I have asked to speak with a manager, left a voicemail for the manager after being transferred, and have not received a call back or any further communication. Today I was once again told they would let the manager know I called and that again, it was being processed with the “next batch.” Funny I get bills in a timely manner to pay, but can’t get my refund they owe me. I am beyond frustrated.Ohio Gastroenterology Group, Inc. Response

12/27/2023 procedure: I can't rate a zero for Ohio Gastro Olentangy River Road thus, I can't rate a zero for Ohio Gastro Olentangy River Road thus, this review. I experience extremely low blood pressure when fentanyl anesthesia is used during ANY medical procedure. This fact is based upon multiple previous surgical procedures and was listed in previous medical records sent to this facility in 2 months prior to my scheduled procedure. 1) I shared my blood pressure issue with the intake nurses, a nursing supervisor named *****, DR. ***** ******, and the anesthesia Dr. all PRIOR to the actual procedure. 2) I had the procedure. DR. ***** ****** USED FENTANYL against better judgement after being told of the history. 3) My blood pressure at the lowest was 96 over 36 (normal range is 120/80) and in the recovery area the nurses were trying to rush me out of the facility stating if I had an "issue to go to the ER". I fought the nurses and SUPERVISOR NURSE ***** from discharge for 2 hours. 4) These nurses are rude to recovering patients with unexpected problems, unable to handle patients advocating from being forced out of the facility in SERIOUS CONDITION. NOTE: DO NOT ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN TO YOU!! This facility resembles the meat market attitude... don't let the bed get cold before the next victim is laying there. Picture a conveyor belt, your **** in the air, and the next patient assuming the position next in line, and after them, after them, and after them, etc.... Please, read all reviews and DO NOT schedule ANY PROCEDURE with this company.Review from Lydia P

I love my doctor and infusion nurses. However, I have been trying to get FML paperwork filled out since early October (now mid-December) and cannot make contact. I was in the office last month and spoke with someone that had the paperwork in her hand, yet was still never turned in to my job. After so many voicemails and portal messages that I've lost track, I'm switching to another practice.Review from Barbara M

Physicians and staff are kind and helpful. Scheduling, however, is a nightmare. Put on hold; transferred then cut off repeatedly. Not a good experience.Ohio Gastroenterology Group, Inc. Response

Sept. 1 2023, Procedure was fine, but no follow-up from doctor immediately after. Just sent me out the door. An immediate follow-up from the doctor is traditional, and occurs at other medical groups. Received a letter of all-clear on Sept. 13, two days later on Sept. 15 receive a phone call to schedule a follow-up procedure. They never sent a letter indicating why a follow-up was needed. Checking with my primary care physician, he received the letter. I have been trying to call Ohio Gastroenterology group for over a week to schedule. They don't even answer their phones, finally got an operator who said leave a voice message. Called back spoke to scheduling, they can't schedule an appointment, contact the doctor for follow-up procedure appointments. Wow, terrible customer service. Look elsewhere for help, this group is on life support from a customer service perspective.Review from Misty P

If I could give them a negative number I would. I had to get a colonoscopy and they had me check on coverage before the procedure. My insurance said it was covered as preventative but because of the way they coded it, I now have to pay. When I called to inquire on why they coded it differently, someone said they would get back to me and they never did. When I called back to billing, the person on the end was snotty and demeaning and I have now appealed the claim with my insurance. I think they are just being greedy and billing however they want. I would never go back to them and would urge you to get everything in writing before you go to them for anything.Review from Tracey N

It’s been several years since I had my colonoscopy with Ohio gastro group and the negative experience still resonates with me. To this day I believe the doctor who performed my colonoscopy was not qualified or did in fact make an error during the procedure. After going through a battery of costly tests following my procedure the results were inconclusive as to why I was experiencing the pain that I didn’t have before the procedure. The group has since sent me a letter stating they could no longer see me as a patient. I would not recommend this practice.Review from Rhonda A

I was here in 2020, never consulted on results. Again with problems in July 2023 and not explained/ consulted on results after initially being told they found inflamation upon reading after the EGD and Colonscopy, only a letter sent. Couldn't get in for 3 months just to SEE what the issue may be and then brushed off and told nothing was wrong despite being in pain. They did not consider elevated labs, previous results or current results in their totality. Seems to be a lack of concern on the doctors part.Ohio Gastroenterology Group, Inc. Response

Staff and MD's were good. Billing Department staff were worthless, refused to resubmit claim to Medicare after Medicare corrected an error in their system. "We don't resubmit claims"Ohio Gastroenterology Group, Inc. Response
