I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction and disbelief regarding the recent hospital bill at Mt Carmel St Ann, and my personal experience with the hospital. I received for services rendered during a biopsy procedure.. The charges outlined are not only exorbitant but also appear to be inflated and even misleading. The most alarming aspect is the billing of a 15-minute room usage for a biopsy procedure, which astonishingly amounts to $6,106. This figure is not only disproportionate but frankly unjustifiable for such a brief duration. Furthermore, upon scrutinizing the breakdown of charges, it becomes apparent that certain items have been duplicated or mislabeled to artificially inflate costs. For example, I received the bill due on 4/24/24 saying diagnostic mammography and on the bill due on 06/04/2024 mentioned diagnostic mammography again. I only received the biopsy once, so I don't understand why there are multiple bills with the same description. I received 5 different bills in total for one procedure. The biopsy experience is not pleasant either. The radiologist did the procedure well; however, the condition of the room doesn't match with the bill charged. The bed in the operating room is dirty; it seems like there's dirt on the bed, and it's uncomfortably cold. It appears that they don't change the bed sheets after every procedure. As a responsible individual, I am willing to pay the bill as received even though I don't receive a head up the bill in advance before the procedure, and I don't think it's a fair amount. I urge the hospital administration to promptly review and rectify this billing discrepancy. Patients should not be subjected to such outrageous and misleading charges, which erode trust in the healthcare system. My star review is for the nurses and the radiologist, not the hospital itself. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my overall experience at the hospital.Review from Naomi J

If I could give Mount Carmel East Emergency Room zero stars I would. First you should never make judgement on anyone because of the choice they made (for example: taking too much of things) So I called 911 because my heart was beating rapidly and I was fainting, going in and out of consciousness. By Gods Grace I had enough strength to call 911. The ambulance came (white men: one brown hair, one blond hair). They were very rude and ignored any assistance I needed at that time. My heart was rapidly beating I felt faint consistently, swaying side to side and they did not assist me to a chair nor did they help me with getting in the ambulance. My heart still beating rapidly, and my body still shaking I decided I should go call my mom so I asked the taller one politely if he can call her for me because I shaking so much in the ambulance. He said “No! But you have two hands so you can do it yourself!” I tried my best to call her even when going in and out of consciousness inside the ambulance without them having no care for my safety. They only helped me when I told my sister that they were not helping me at all. We got to Mount Carmel East ER and when I tell you it was the worst experience I ever had at a hospital it was exactly that. As I said before my heart was rapidly beating, shaking and the staff was was intentionally rude, disrespectful and made sure to do their duties very slowly and intentionally putting in the EKG’s wrong only for my mother (a nurse practitioner) to correct them to put them where their suppose to go. All staff that I encountered their was rude to me and spiteful. I heard them talking about me constantly. It’s horrible to think that their are individuals working in healthcare who make up in their minds to treat patients like trash and not care for their safety. All the staff that encountered treated me like trash the whole time. It Is Not Ok For A Hospital to Treat Patients That Way! Shame On All of You!! Including the Ambulance Staff!Review from Rodney A.

****'s Roofing did an excellent job in taking off the old roof and putting on the new one. The old roof had several layers on it and when taking off the old shingles, the nails stayed in the roof. The crew had to do a lot of pounding to get the nails so they weren't sticking up before they put down the new sheeting. The crew was friendly, answered any questions we had, and they worked hard to get the roof done in two days. ***** crew leader was very knowledgeable and friendly. I will hire ****'s Roofing again for my next job. They also put on new soffit and gutters with gutter guard. I don't think you can go wrong with ****'s Roofing.Review from Sharyn S

Sadly, I liked the new ****************** office staff on my first visit. HOWEVER, every single contact I had outside of their immediate office that involved dealing with the communication and billing system of Mt. Carmel Health was abysmal. Trying to reach the office, ***** minutes on hold when calling their general contact number, only to get their "answering" service and be told they will NOT take messages--call the office again. (Which, of course, I'd been doing only to never be answered.) Billing is even worse. I'm a senior, living on Social Security. With other providers, such at OSU or **** Health, I was always immediately qualified for coverage for anything not paid by my insurance. Recently, I'd phoned **** Health and in 5 minutes, was approved for an uncovered expense. Mt. Carmel, on the other hand, had me submit my information online weeks ago. When I finally reached a person in billing to follow up, I was told it could take 90 DAYS for an answer about if I had qualified. Doing the math, that's a ratio of **** Health's financial support to Mt. Carmel Health's of 5 to ******* minutes. Given I have a perfect 100% on-time payment record on my credit rating, I could not afford to trust the verbal assurance that I wouldn't be reported for a late payment, so I've paid the Mt. Carmel **** out of pocket--money I could have used elsewhere. Paid, I should say, for the very last time. I will NEVER set foot in another facility managed by Mt. Carmel. Guess I should have foreseen a problem with them, given their recent history regarding attentiveness to certain employees on their medical staff. Anyway, sadly, I now have to replace the cardiologist whom I very much liked, It's simply not worth scaling the electrified barbed wire fence of Mt. Carmel Health's grossly inferior customer "support."Review from Bruce H

I have had 3 visits to Mt Carmel in the last 2 years and in each case, the billing has been wrong. For the first case, I saw a pulmonologist and received the **** 9 months after my visit. The **** stated I was not insured, which was incorrect. I called the billing department, and they stated the insurance number provided was incorrect (off by one digit) and my insurer refused to pay. I call my insurer and they stated Mt Carmel had never submitted a ****. My insurer called Mt Carmel directly and resolved the issue. Seems like Mt Carmel could have taken more initiative to solve the issue or at a minimum contacted me to get the "correct" insurance number. For the second issue, I had 2 sleep studies. Again, Mt Carmel billed me 9 months after the studies and stated I was uninsured. I contacted my insurance company which stated they had paid one of the bills and Mt Carmel had not submitted the 2nd ****. Again, my insurance company contact Mt Carmel and provided a copy of the completed payment, showing the Mt Carmel had acknowledged the payment. My insurer also helped Mt Carmel submit the 2nd claim. Mt Carmel seems to have a systemic issue with not properly submitting claims, not keeping track of payments or not submitting claims at all. Additionally, I have repeatedly asked Mt Carmel not to submit my account to a collection's agency, and the associate has assured me they won't since it was "not my fault", yet they have submitted my account to collections.
