  Capital City Auction is a public bidding site. I bid on Auction4704 from Hilliard Depot on Wednesday, July 25, 2023. The item I bid on and won was item 45-a Nugget Cube Ice Maker-Z5820AF-Black. The auction site statement regarding this item stated "This item was previously opened. NO OBVOIUS DAMAGE! WITH FACTORY PACKAGING. I open the box at the auction house. The item was in its original box and contained factory packaging so I left with the product assuming that all was OK. At home I removed the item and prepared it for making ice only to find out that the ice maker does not work. Not sure if manufacturer issue and from being returned! I contacted Kati at the Auction House by text and informed her of the product not working. She replied that there are no refunds after the products leave the building. I replied back that "I was suppose to get water from her at the site and plug in the machine to see if it make ice and wait for an hour or two to ensure that ice is being made."

  I am rejecting this response because: This item per their paperwork stated "NO OBVIOUS DAMAGE! WITH FACTORY PACKAGING". 

  As we all refringent machines, you can not plug-in (test) if the machine for a recommended period, especially if the machine was turned over. This one is for two hours.  I don't know how the item was stored in their warehouse or picked-up before bring to me for review.   In their lobby I removed the product from the box.  I could see that it was still in the manufacturer's packaging.  I did not see any broken parts or pieces.  Testing this item at their warehouse would have required several hours.  First to allow the refringent to settle, plugging it in somewhere, finding and adding water, then waiting for the water to turn into ice...   
  

  This Auction house is selling broken items that was previously used/returned.   This item does not work.  Error message states that their is a refringent problem.  

  If their bid item stated- "Previous Used and Returned", I would not have bid on the item.   But their paperwork stated, "NO OBVIOUS DAMAGE! WITH FACTORY PACKAGING".

  This company needs to be honest with customers on what is being sold.  Selling items that don't work is just wrong.
