John R Photo (John F*******) was supposed to furnish edited wedding photos within 3 months of my wedding. Wedding Date: September 10, 2022 Amount paid: $875.00 The specific language from our contract reads: "Delivery Timeframe for Pics The night of your wedding I will send over 10-20 edited preview photos. Within the following week you will receive all of your unedited photos in JPG. Edited photos will be delivered within 90 days, but hopefully much less." John has not provided me the edited photos. He has not responded to multiple texts and phone calls, and his email is now bouncing back. I would like the photos to be provided to me, as laid out in our contract.Initial Complaint

We hired John to be the photographer for our wedding. To start he showed up an hour to an hour and a half late, disrupting the wedding. We payed for him to show up with 2 assistants. He showed up with 0. Which meant some of the wedding party and/or guest held lights and things to assist. As well as a brides maid and her husband had to help take photos to make up for him missing a lot. He promised us “free stuff” to make up for it. He said he would send us some photos soon. After a week or 2 he sent us maybe 10 random photos and said he would send more. 2 months later we still didn’t have more. As well as not sending us the pictures we paid him for, he stopped returning calls, texts, emails, etc. A month later we finally heard back and he said he would send some more photos that night. We received nothing. A week later, we messaged, called, emailed for a week straight and only heard back when we brought us trying to get our money back. He said his phone had died and he would get the pictures out. We received nothing. Again, we called and messaged for several days to again get no answer. Finally, we got a message back saying he had some personal things that had gotten in the way. Again we asked for photos to be sent. We are even only asking for unedited photos, even though we paid for professional edits. He said he needed a few more days, so we gave him again, more time. A few days later still nothing, still no responses from calls or texts. We’ve given up on trying to resolve this between just the 2 parties involved. There are also many bad reviews about his business and his unprofessionalism. Many couples haven’t received their photos from weddings back in February of 2021. We just want to have our pictures. I would not recommend doing any business with John at all.Initial Complaint

We signed a contract with John R Photo on November 22, 2021. The contract stipulates that he agrees to provide photography services in exchange for a financial payment. We agreed to $1,500 for said services and paid $750 on November 22, 2021 and $712.50 on March 13, 2022 (we we're given a 5% discount for paying in full at this time). These payments were for him to come to our wedding on April 2, 2022 and perform photography services, collect and edit pictures after the mentioned date, and return to us the digital property, our wedding pictures. He did show up to the wedding, he did take pictures throughout the day, but he hasn't delivered the pictures. In our final planning meeting he quoted us 2 months to edit our pictures, which is actually quite long if you're familiar with photography, weddings, and editing. So on May 27, 2022, just shy of the 2 month marker, I inquired about his progress over text. On June 3, 2022 (7 days later) he sent a response over text, "been moving into a new place and it's been chaos. I'll be done in 5-7 days". June 3, 2022 was the last time John had ever contacted us. On June 15, 2022 (12 more days go by, well past his new 5-7 day quote) I sent another text inquiring about his progress. I've since called, texted, left voicemails, emailed, reached out on social media, done everything I can to reach out to him, almost daily. There is another review on the knot.com, a wedding vendor website he subscribes to, and another complaint here on BBB, all about his failure to deliver services rendered after receiving the payment in full. We're worried we've simply lost our wedding day memories and now at the bare minimum we just want the raw photos so we can pay even more money to someone reliable to edit them. At a maximum we want him to render the services agreed upon and/or a refund and even emotional damages paid for. My wife is experiencing emotional distress at the thought of losing our wedding photos. Please help.Initial Complaint

John photographed my wedding ceremony on 10/3/21. We paid our initial $360 deposit 2/2020, then paid the $940 balance on 9/22. I also paid an additional $300 since we did an extra hour. He photographed our entire day, and I sent a $100 tip that evening on 10/3. Total spent was $1800. We still have not received our photos aside from the few he texted that evening as a preview (8 pictures total). I asked via email when they would be done on 11/15/21 and he replied 11/15/21 with "Hi Sara! I'm a bit further behind than expected on editing, it's been a crazy year. I don't have an exact date set for you guys, but I'm hoping within a month or so. I can get some more preview shots over to you this week though! Sorry for the delay." My husband emailed 12/6/21 again asking for them -no response. I emailed him 2/13/22: "We hope you are okay. When you receive this, please send our wedding photos. We do not care if some are unedited. At this point, we just want a response with our photos. We do not want to have to seek legal action but will if we do not hear from you by the end of the month." -no response. I called him 3/14/22 and left a voicemail again asking for the photos (he did not answer the phone). I Venmo'd him 3/14/22 requesting a refund of $1700. It has not been paid as of 3/14/22.
