This past Friday night, my husband and I decided after 15 years since the last time we were at Laconi's, to go for dinner. We sat in the bar area and had **** for our waitress. We ordered the date night meal and beverages. When the bill came, I gave **** my Visa and she blindsided me with the statement that we were being charged a 3 % charge for using the card. When we entered the restaurant we never saw anything that told us using our card would result in us being charged the extra fee. If we did we would have left and gone elsewhere. We go to other Mom and Pop restaurants and are never charged the service fee. The dinners were good and **** was good, the service fee is what blindsided us and did not sit well with us. I would be happy if we got the service fee back. The I.D. number on the receipt is ******* and the sequence number is *******. One Coke, One Lemonade, a Date Night Deal was what we ordered. The service fee was$ 1.17. Thank youBusiness response

There is a sign in our restaurant charging 3% on all cards. This sign is located in the front by the daily specials. We are sorry you did not see the sign. This is our policy, however as a one time courtesy, if you would like to return we are willing to give the 3% fee charge back for your order. We will however be abiding by the policy moving forward. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because: I am not satisfied with the answer. I have no idea when we will be returning to Laconi's for dinner and if/or when we go back to the restaurant, what guarantee do I have that we will not be duped and be told " I have no idea what you are talking about" or "I am not authorized to waive the service fee" or "The owner is gone and won't be coming back tonight." or something along that line. We do not go out to dinner very often so that is why I said what I said. Thank you

I must repeat what I said earlier, how do I know that when I go to the restaurant for the refund, I will not talk to an employee who looks at me like deer in the headlight and tell me that he or she has no idea what I am talking about? I do not want to be put through the agony of being treated like a fool. I will not be going for dinner just to be picking up the refund that I hope will not be ******* up. I am thinking of either this Friday or next Friday between the 4:00 and 5:00 hour. I will be coming from the north and will have to see how traffic is. Thank you
