Around November 9th, 2020 I took my car to be diagnosed by Kettering Oakwood Automotive after reading the good reviews online. It took them a few days to run a dye test and give me the diagnosis. After receiving this diagnosis I pay $105.89 and I took the car back home to decide on how I wanted to move forward and did not drive the car. I decided to get the repairs listed on my diagnosis repaired at Kettering Oakwood Automotive on around November 20th and was told that they would have to run dye back through which I was confused about because they said they had already done that. I agreed to the cost of repair and was told that everything as in all the oil leaks they had diagnosed was fixed. Upon picking up my car, paying $1093.80 and getting my receipt I immediately asked why some things they had not diagnosed as leaking the first time I brought my cat in were not listed in their repairs on the receipt. They told me after the second dye test they determined what was wrong again and assured me everything was fixed. Approximately two hours after picking my cat up I notice a burning oil smell and some smoke so I call the shop owner who assured me everything is fine and if anything else happens to bring the cat back. Two days later I get a notification on my car saying "turn engine off due to low oil pressure". I immediately shut the engine off and was stranded on the side of the road. The shop is closed this day so I call the owners cellphone number he gave me and no answer. I pay to have the car towed back to the shop. I have a friend who knows about cars come with me and ask about the repairs and a worker cursed at him. The owner was not in so we call him and he says he's not interested in working on the car any further. The car leaked all the oil out and now has internal engine damage and says "low oil pressure shut off engine" when I turn it on. I've never had this notification prior to bringing my car here and now it is not drivable.

Business Response /* (1000, 11, 2022/01/07) */ Contact Name and Title: ***** ***** owner Contact Phone: ************ Contact Email: ********************@GMAIL.COM Mrs ****** brought in her 2011 Chevy Cruze to have me diagnosis a oil leak. She had it at her boyfriends friends garage. She stated he was supposed to rebuild the motor and put new cylinder head on it, along with new timing chains. The vehicle was leaking oil severely when she brought it to my shop.We look at her vehicle I gave her a list of problems that was causing the leaking.I told her to take it back to whoever worked on it to have the repairs fixed. She stated, she did not want to do that, because she's going to take him to court to get her money back. I told her give the guy a chance to make the repairs. She stated, she took it back to the gentleman that originally worked on the car.The 1st called I received she stated,he would not fix the problem. She stated he refused to work on her car.She brought the car back to our shop to have us re-evaluate the oil leaks.I gave her a quote to fix the major oil leaks.I also stated to her the vehicle still could have oil problems, because the car was not put together correctly. She gave me the okay to do the major oil leak repair. After we did the repair I gave her all of her old parts.I told her the valve cover was leaking and cracked she did not believe me.She stated she would like to look at the old part. She gave me the okay to fix the car again. After,I repair the vehicle. I told her we put dye in the oil system.I stated that she needs to bring the car back in after a couple of days of driving the vehicle. She did have my personal cell phone number. Her boyfriend started calling me on it and harassing me over the bill. I stated that I repaired what was needed. I stated that his girlfriend had all the old parts. A couple days later, she texted me and told me her car is leaking oil. I stated to her to bring it back to my shop to check it. She keeps driving it after I told her to quit driving the vehicle before she damaged the vehicles motor. She called me back a day later that day and stated the vehicle had quit running on the highway. The computer in vehicle sent code loyal pressure.I stated to her again to stop driving the vehicle. I stated to her to have it towed in, so we can see what is leaking. There was a problem with the engine. We found the crank seal was leaking oil. Her grandfather came into the shop I showed him the crank seal that was leaking.I showed him where all the other repairs was not done incorrectly from the other shop. He stated her boyfriend and a friend has been working on the car not an actual shop. He stated for me to fix the crank seal. He would let his granddaughter know about the other problems.I repaired the crank seal at no charge to the customer. I put oil back in the vehicle. The low oil light still coming on and I stated to them that there is a possibility there could be a internal engine problem.I've been telling them that from the start. She stated okay no problem. She came and picked her vehicle and left the shop the boyfriend. He called me back and started screaming and hollering and cussing want to know why the oil light was still on. I stated to him the same thing I had stated to her. There is an internal engine problem but they really need to talk to the other person that did all the work.He then started cursing at us again. He stated we was trying to rip them off.I stated to both of them from the start that I did not have to do the repairs. The other the place or person should be the one to fix the vehicle.I do not know what internal damage was done from the originally. I stated what they did has nothing to do with me or myshop. He came into the shop started to become violent with my son. My son told him to leave, he stated that he was going to take us to court to sue us for ripping them off. I gave him my lawyer's number told him we was done.I did repairs on the worst leaks.I gave him all the old Parts back to showed everyone everything that was wrong with the vehicle.I did not want to get involved with this from the start but, I felt sorry for the young lady and try to help her. I have all documentation showing what was done to the vehicle. I tried to convince them to take it back to the original place that worked on it. I have all the nasty text messages from them I tried to help I just don't know what to do at this point with them. They can contact my lawyer at this point Consumer Response /* (3000, 13, 2022/01/11) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Most of his claims are false. I did take the car to the guy who previously worked on it and he would not work on it so I told this shop that he would not fix it and and they said they could fix my car no problem and did not give any warning about not driving it after he had made the repairs. This shop said it was good to drive. Nearly an hour after picking my car up from the shop, I called his cell phone number because I could smell oil burning in my car. He states that he has done this dye test several times to assess the leaks and that all the oil leaks have been fixed which is not true because the car is leaking the same as before. He states that he told me not to drive the car after receiving it back from them "repaired" which is not true and not in any of our messages or mentioned during phone calls. I turned my car off on the side of the road as soon as it showed low oil pressure on the display, which i've never had on my car before and had it towed straight to the shop. I called his cell phone and that way he could see if it's still leaking or not. I have never sent "nasty messages" like he has mentioned and am happy to provide proof of our messages. I was never warned about internal damage to the cat until after he had worked on it. I would not have agreed to pay him over 1000 dollars for repairs if i thought there was even a chance of internal damage. He caused the internal damage to my car by not fixing the oil leaks that he diagnosed and agreed to fix and caused me to have to pay more to tow it back to his shop and stranded on the side of the road. There is a warranty mentioned at the bottom of the receipt and has not been honored. We would never curse at a business person and we're never asked to leave. We simply wanted the car fixed as he stated he could do. Business Response /* (4000, 15, 2022/01/13) */ Here is my receipts on Mrs. ****** vehicle. You can see everything was documented and she also have copys of the receipts. So you can see Im not lying about nothing. I think I still have or can get a hold of my text messages through Verizon if you need them. If you have any questions please let me know. Thanks. See Attached
