2021 they fixed my timing chain. Recently I went to see about another issue. They said your timing change is bad. I said you just fixed it. They looked in computer and saw it was done there. He said it was over 2 years but I hadn't gone 20000 miles yet. They did 2800.00. I called corporate office. They did return my call quickly and offered to have me pay a $1000 and them the rest. After checking with others it. The cost was not even close, so I would have been paying for the whole thing anyway. So they were just blowing smoke. Ther should be embarrassed to show their face. I will never go there again. I feel they should fix the whole thing themselves. I will probably never gear from them again.Review from Bryan M

My vehicle was towed in for a charging system issue truck stopped running after the alternator failed. They after being given authorization of a diagnostic service. Recommend and installed a alternator that i purchased for half the price they offered for the same one and informed me the alternator pigtail had an issue after bringing it back twice cause the alternator and battery alone didn’t fix the issue. I have had to have 3 batteries warrantied out because they failed to accurately diagnose or repair my issue. It was determined by a different shop the pigtail was not actually repaired and I am now out another $800 for the same parts plus a pigtail at a different shop. If you read through other complaints it appears there is a solid pattern here of part slapping people’s vehicles and not actually determining the problems. Ironically they declined my request to them directly for a refund and chose to be rude argumentative and abrasive again. Seems to be a theme. Call corporate and they pass you off to the same store manager who runs the store responsible for the problem. Won’t make that mistake twice.Grismer Tire Company Response

Grismer never repaired a pigtail. We simply clicked the tab in correctly because it wasn't pushed all the way in on the original repair. Grismer performed this work on 1/16/24. The vehicle came back on 1/20/24 for similar issues. We found the clip on the pigtail to the Alternator wasn't clicked in all the way. We fixed and retested over and over for 2+ days. We found ZERO issues. Mr Miller picked up the truck on 1/22/24 and hasn't had any issues until last week. 3 MONTHS have passed and now he's blaming Grismer for a faulty wiring harness. The invoice clearly states that their is NO WARRANTY on parts or labor due to customer supplied parts.Review from Edward G

Never again. I used to trust Grismer on South 4th Street Columbus. I had been going to them for years. However, over the last couple years with some turnover of mechanics, they are constantly trying to upsell, and over charge. As so many reviews with the BBB, it starts off with, "I brought my car in for an oil change. $1500 later..." My car sounded fine when I brought it in to them. When I left my muffler sounded like a Harley. They egregiously damaged my muffler on purpose and wanted to charge me another $1500 to repair the damage they caused. I took my car to a reliable serviceman, and they fixed it for a third of what Grismer was attempting to extort from me. I'm putting this onto the BBB site and asking them to review the rating they give. them. Also considering filing a complaint with the Attorney General Department of Consumer Fraud.Review from Brandon S

I took my 2014 Equinox to Grismer Tire on Woodman Drive in Dayton for an oil change. The car had been making a humming noise when it was in motion. I asked them to check it out. I was told me that the humming noise was caused by the catalytic converter which was “hanging on by a thread” and was about ready to break off. The cost of this repair would be $1905.00. The car had to be in motion to hear the buzzing sound. They didn’t bother to test drive it. I took the car to a different repair shop for a second opinion. After a short test drive, I was told that the humming noise was caused by bad wheel bearing. The cost for the repair was $402.00. I asked the mechanic to check the catalytic converter. He said it was OK. I started using Grismer after I bought new tires in 2018. When I first got the tires, they were advertising three free oil changes with the purchase of new set of tires. They reneged on that promise and told me I would only get two free oil changes because my car used synthetic oil. They did not tell me this when I bought the tires. I found it out when it was time for the third oil change and I had to pay for it. This, I believe was a red flag, but I didn’t think much about it at the time. I strongly suggest that anyone who does business with them to get a second opinion if they suggest an expensive repair. Had I listened to them, I would have spent $1900.00 and the real problem would have still not been fixed.Review from Angela T

We took our van in for a simple oil change. They broke the bolt that holds the oil pan and charged us for it! $600 later. Also stated we needed a new serpentine belt, brake pads, air filters. We took ithe van toan actual reputable mechanic and stated that none of what they said was needed. Place is a major rip off. We went to the one in Fairborn OH.Grismer Tire Company Response

We've been trying to contact you, to explain that the bolt was not broken, the aluminum threads on the oil pan were worn out due to the 2009 Honda Odyssey being 14 years old and having 173,784 miles. If you change your oil every 5,000 miles that would be the 35th oil change on the vehicle. Aluminum wears out over time. This is a common problem with Aluminum oil pans.Review from Shelley H

If you don't read it all the point is if your a woman you might feel discriminated or intimidated. I called in the morning with a staple in my SUV tire and Brian was very kind. When I arrived I felt welcome and the service was genuine and honest. I ended up needing a new tire but felt so satisfied I booked an appointment for my car the next day. I even brought the guys donuts! After joking around with some ladies in the waiting room about cabin filters and how overpriced they are. We all agreed it was a good service test for them to offer to have us change them ourselves. To my surprise Patrick the store manager overheard us. He came into the waiting room and insisted on showing me my cabin filter in the garage. After being confrontational and mentioning revenue being nice. I simply stated that it's a small thing but shows a lot about service in a company. When I returned both women I was chatting too asked if I was okay as they saw how abrasive and confrontational Patrick was. While paying Patrick, did apologize but did not seem sincere and put the blame on me saying "I felt that way" not that he was indeed confrontational and genuinely sorry about it. This went from an amazing experience with the potential of life long loyalty to never coming back.Review from Jessi G

Terrible customer service! Bought 4 new Firestone tires there 18 months ago, had less than 3000 miles on them and a valve stem failed, they did not cover under warranty and charged 50 bucks for a replacement and refill the tire. Never again will they get a penny of my business!Grismer Tire Company Response

Mr B**** came into our store with a Tire losing air on his Cadillac Escalade. He purchased the tires on 7/14/21 at 144,402 miles. Currently the vehicle has 161,434 which is 17,032 miles on the tires, not 3,000 like Mr B**** stated. The tire was leaking around the rim due to corrosion and around the valve stem. We buffed and sealed the rim and replaced the valve stem. Mr B**** declined the tire owner protection plan when he purchased the tires, so therefore we charged 39.99 to repair the leaking tire. Please eliminate this customer complaint as Grismer Tire did ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong.Review from Sara H.

Centerville Ohio location....Went in for a routine oil change. They did upsell on the Best package stating that is what I got the last time. Did not ask, just did the Best. Whatever, no biggie. Just an oil change. 5 days later, leaking oil all over the place under my van. Had it towed back to them to look at it. Cracked oil housing unit which was 'not their fault' - never had an issue with leaky oil or anything prior to the change. Had them change that out, and while they were at it, had 2 new tires and a tie rod fixed. Get it home, engine light is on. Throwing code P0303 for misfire. Never had an engine issue since I've owned it. Didn't have an issue prior to going into the shop. Called to see if they'd do a diagnostics on it to see if there was a loose wire or something. I had put $1900 into the car, and I thought they could do a courtesy check. No, they would look at it, but if deemed not their "fault", another $149.99 charge. Of course it will be deemed not their fault - I just feel like the customer service is shady, and they upsell and take advantage of the unknowledgeable customer. They got good commission off of me, and I am nervous if I take it back they'd find another $1500 worth of work to do it it, or make another issue for me to resolve, because I am a women and just want a reliable running car. They make money off people like me who they can cause more harm than good and charge them for it...Grismer Tire Company Response
