      This morning I came to the store because I wanted to purchase some Russian products. As I was walking through the store I couldn't find sign that says RUSSIA. I then noticed a store worker and asked him where the RUSSIA was. He said they have removed the RUSSIA signs because of "what is happening". I asked him what was happening. He said that "Russia is BAD". And then I asked him why. He said because Russia invaded Ukraine that is why. He then said it is "right here" pointing on the RUSSIA signs (there are TWO of them; I do have pictures). He then added that they used to have a LARGE sign saying "Russia". When everything had just started their put Ukrainian flags by the products from Ukraine "to somehow support them". Please do not there were NO signs saying "Ukraine". I am just SHOCKED and I do feel disciminated against. The gentelman had NO right to express his opinion like that. I mean he HAD but not being one of the workers there. I don't think he even realized what he had done. This company, in my opinion, might want to hire a professional legal help to put "Inclusions and diversity" training. I am hurt and I am just shocked.

      At this time Jungle Jim's is in the middle of a remodel and all of our European countries are together in 1 aisle. This is just temporary until we open our new expansion so that we can continue to grow our countries' selection. All signs will be back as soon as we are finished.

      For the past year or so, we've been having huge problems with everything we buy - meat, dairy, produce - going bad within a few days. We've avoided buying certain items from Jungle Jim's because the expiration date is close or passed. We've seem items relabeled with a new sticker/new expiration date over an old sticker/old expiration date. The last time we bought ground beef from Jungle Jim's, it was gray within 48 hours. We bought a bag of lemons last Friday (7-28-23) and less than week later, they were moldy. Lemons. Moldy within five days of purchase. I grew up in Hamilton and have gone to Jungle Jim's for decades. But it's such a gamble to shop there anymore. The produce has become the worst I've seen from anywhere. Variety and quantity do NOT equal quality. Same with the meats. I've tried to reach out to them in the past and the response I got was, "Well that's what you get with fresh products!" No. No it isn't. An unopened package of bacon or vacuum-sealed pork does NOT go bad in four days. A loaf of ********** Farm bread does NOT go bad in three days. They're changing expiration dates and selling old food. Check out some online reviews. "Expired items" is definitely a recurring theme.

       Jungle Jim's stands behind the quality of products we sell, and will refund with proof of purchase. Jungle Jim's does not relabel and change dates. We follow all of the health department's, FDA, and department of Agriculture regulations and hold ourselves to a high standard. It is unfortunate if this customer truly had these problems and wish that she had reached out to store management so that we could have refunded her. On any quality complaint store management would immediately check the other items on the shelf to ensure the best quality possible for our customers.

      Thank you so much for your response. As stated above, I have reached out before and was told "that's what you get with fresh food". After reading so many reviews of people having the same kinds of problems and seeing the same things happening, I decided to go a step further.I appreciate your follow-up. I will start doing a better job of documenting what I see when I visit Jungle Jim's and will also share that information with the BBB.

      As I was checking out I noticed a hole in my bag of rice. I was told to just get a replacement on my own as I was walking out. I did exactly that and got met at the door by someone named Stephen. Who flashed his badged in my face and began to tell me I took something without paying. First thing I said was I had a hole in my rice and was told to get my own. He then kept questioning me instead of asking for my receipt and would not get out of my face. I had to literally back him up and honestly was ready to hit him. When I called to complain Cathy D*** told me she was sorry and watched the tape and that he should have never acted like that. I asked for an apology and she agreed he owed me one. Well that changed apparently because he said he wouldn’t do that because his egos too big. On top of that Cathy then said she can’t make him apologize. Is she not in charge or is he? So allowing your security to harass your customers is ok? I’m a veteran who just had heart surgery a couple weeks before and this stressed me out unbelievably. The fact that the manager agreed and said he was out of line and owed me an apology only to back step and not be in charge and allow her “security” to harass and treat customers this way is unacceptable. I was having a great time in the store and everybody was super nice until I was walking out and had to deal with a short fat tempered top flight security of the world attitude from some bum named Stephen. Fire this fool or hand him a broom.

      I had a problem and wanted to talk to management about the situation. Micheal A****** came and was rude and dismissive. I always have a lovely time in this grocery store except when I encountered this guy. I hope his attitude will not affect the rest of the store. That will be a shame.
