My 15 year old son and I went to Nelson's Ledges Quarry Park in Garrettsville on July 2, 2022. We arrived at 5:45pm and expected to stay until 7:00pm. As the very heavy young girl was checking the vehicles in front of us, we sat and waited. When she came up to our vehicle, she looked at the clock in my car - which is always 8 minutes fast (to make sure I'm never late for work) - and said to me, "It's 6pm! We're closed!" I told her my clock was fast and she walked away to get 'the manager'. She came back and told me "If you come in, we're gonna have to charge you $40!" I agreed to the $40 charge. Then, 5 minutes later, the manager, Aleah, came marching up to my car with an attitude and said "It's $50 for each one of you!! And the cliffs close at 7!!" I've never encountered such a rude individual at a business. I asked to speak to the manager, and she shouted, "I AM THE MANAGER!" So I had to pay $103 for just 45 minutes of fun for my son. Then, as we were walking toward the cliffs, we see the lifeguard LEAVING so there was no jumping allowed! Since people were jumping anyway, my son jumped. Then, (I'm sure the manager sent this guy) a guy comes over in a canoe and yells "The next one jumping in goes home!" So, as we're walking back, we see the lifeguard coming back at 6:55pm - just 5 minutes before closing time!!! And the place was full of stoners smoking pot. It was disgusting. I'm quite sure the manager had something to do with closing the cliffs. We ended up leaving just after 7pm. I want my $103 back for this whole ordeal. My son jumped one time into the water and we drove 45 minutes and paid $103 for that?Business response

After talking with our staff, these people arrived after our day admission ended. They were upset and very rude that the only available entry was for camping. They used profanity and were extremely rude. Our staff tried to handle it and explain the best they could.
