I have been in contact with this company for over a year now probably trying to get them to come back and fix some of the things that were bad. I've never got my warranty and they keep giving me excuses why they are not coming over here. They have used everything from covid to it's too far away and it's a small problem compared to all the other ones. I just want them to come and fix what is bad. I have all the text messages saved that I have sent to both the owner **** and ***** the one who put on the siding. I've had promises from both of them and never followed through with it.

      Business response

We were referred to Ms. ****** by our friend who installs gutters, he said there was a insurance job that had been sitting for a while, a siding replacement. Ms. ******s property is 40 miles outside of our normal radius of work, but she was having trouble finding someone to replace the siding on her home, due to some wind damage. We agreed on a price for her siding work, signed a contract, and things went relatively smooth.

We signed our contract on 3/24/21. We had a slight delay in her siding (she chose a special order color), but she was understanding of the delay. I was forwarding her the email updates from the supplier; and the day the siding came in, I personally drove an hour and put the boxes on my truck, and dropped them off in her driveway. Two days later, my crew began siding. Everything went smoothly. We did find her garage walls were wavy, due to their age and condition. We told her we could either resheet and sister in some framing for a cost, or use some longer siding nails, and try and float the damage out. She went for the longer siding nails, which we figured would be fine enough. We completed the job in a week, and both parties signed and submitted a letter of completion to her insurance on 5/9/21. We had some extra siding, she asked if we could side the shed. We did this as well on a seperate invoice. The shed doors I told her may need replaced or reinforced with the extra weight, but I cut an inch off the bottom of them, and wrapped and sided them as well. She seemed satisfied and we had no issues with payment.

The next week, she informed me via text that "all her siding was wavy and needed replaced". I told her we were on another job, and her hour away job was hard for us to get to, but we would make it out. Within a week I went and drove the hour each way, to re-explain the sheathing and framing issue underneath, I did take off a few pieces of siding in the peak, and see if i could make it look better for her. She seemed happy with this and I went away. The next week, she reached out again, she wanted her siding that was left over, that she initially planned on selling, moved into her garage and put into the rafters, and physically she couldn't do this. As a nice gesture, we drove down there again and loaded her siding into her garage rafters. Again, an hour away. She informed us thought the older treated front porch posts posts she had didnt look good with the new siding, so she asked if we could warp them with metal. We told her that we didnt like to do those, because they always end up wavy, but we will with the warning that the metal may be wavy. And this work was outside of her contract and an act of good faith. She said it would be better than treated wood. So the next week, ***** made another trip outside of contractual necessity, and wrapped the porch posts in metal, which we also paid for out of pocket.

Two weeks later, she complained to us that her porch posts were wavy, which, again we warned her about and isnt in our contract, and that she had some other issues with her siding. I drove down again, and re-explained the initial warning on wrapping porch posts, put some new nails in them, and replaced a piece of siding on the back of the house because she wanted her doorbell moved. She again seemed happy. Then we had a very large job start an hour in the opposite direction, that was to last 3 months, it lasted 7. During the 7 months, we had 4 employees leave for seperate reasons, and batted with COVID related sickness in our company, including 3 losses of family members. Ms ****** continuously called, texted and emailed us asking when we could come down and fix her siding or pay her $500. We corresponded as much as we could, and tried explaining this to her. She seemed ok with the correspondence, though I know its frustrating. We would love to make this customer happy, but are not sure that we can. The company is now operating under a different owenership structure, we have no employeees. Also, we sent Ms. ****** a copy of our warranty on 7/21/21 at her request, along with her insuance agent. None of the issues that Ms ****** were complaing about are covered in our warranty, nor were the ones we drove down multiple times to remedy. Her siding thats currently off may be, but we havent seen it nor have the ability to at this time. We would love to make this right, but the logistics of it all and the current standing of our company makes this almost impossible. Communicating with Ms ****** has been trying, but we hopefully can make her happy somehow in the future and resolve this.

      Customer response

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

They have been promising  me since day 1 that they warranty  their work. Then they come up with all the excuses  that I live to far away, and they can't just drop the bigger paying jobs to come here for small projects.  They have promised  over and over they would be here and that even thought the business was folding that ***** who did the work would follow through.

I understood the Covid reasons. but then he was watching kids while his eife was out of the country, then he was coaching  then he had a flat.

I am tired  of dealing with this and the excuses, as I don't  sincerely believe they ever intended  to come back again.

I just want to be done and reimbursed  for what it has done and has cost me of my time and hassle of putting siding back up over and over and renailng loose pieces. For this much stuff to go wrong within the 1st year is unacceptable.   I  still going to have to have someone to make it look right.

At this point I want to be compensated for the cost and frustration, and the future cost of having it done right.

      Sincerely,

      ****** ******
