Company put roof and gutters on our house that aren't up to code. Didn't get building permits. Let trash from roof in my yard for 2 weeks. Had roofers on my roof in a lighting storm. Damaged my deck. Treated my blind husband badly. Won't fix damage or bring work up to code.

We had a contract with the Mrs ***** in the amount of $39.000 to remove a slate roof, install new plywood and install a new roof, install new gutters, install new fascia metal, install a bad fascia board, install new siding on the front of the house and replace the broken siding panels on the rest of the house.

Based on what the insurance company paid out on the roof, siding and gutters, some $32,000 of the contract was for roof and gutter work, and the remaining amount was for siding, fascia and wood work.

From the first minute of this job this woman has done nothing but be irrational and treat our roofers with complete disrespect.

On Saturady, August 29th the crew tore off a slate roof and put brand new plywood on the house and competed this by dark and said they would return on Sunday because it would rain on Monday. She threw a total fit called me and screamed noone was working on Sunday. After discussing this further with the salesmen she agreed to let them come back on Sunday and dry in the roof. The roofers returned the next morning and started cleaning the trash from the yard so they could take the dumpster after drying in the roof and were confronted by her in the yard screaming they werent working on Sunday , So they packed up and left and returned on Monday and completed the roof installation which took them until dark. Because the woman had treated the roofer so badly we had to send out another crew to clean up the yard. And once they completed the roof, she called throwing a total fit that they didn't put her siding and gutters on as well showing how irrational and unreasonable she would be going forward. It shouldnt be that difficult to understand that gutters and siding are scheduled separately/ The roofers were pretty upset.

On September 1rst the gutter crew installed the new gutters. They were also going to replace a missing fascia board and install fascia metal, but the rafters tails were rotted so they installed the gutter so they didnt have to reschedule 3 weeks later. We scheduled another crew to put the fascia metal up and repair the rafter tails and install the missing fascia board. They brought the materials out and left them onsite,( see photo)  but we never completed the work because the lady already stated she wasnt going to pay us anything no matter what we did, and we never got that resolved. On September 2nd Mrs ***** had conversations with the salesman claiming she had paid us everything she owed us, stated the siding wasnt part of the contract, etc, etc. Well the contract clearly stated that the contract price was $39,000. Which means if she didnt think the siding was part of the contract she owed us $19,500 once the fascia was done. She had only paid us $19,500 at that time.  But, the contract actually stated that we would finish the fascia and the board and put new siding on front of the house and wrap the windows with metal. The insurance alloted about $8,000 to replace two sides of sidng them kept several thousand dollras of that due to nonrecoverable depreciation. In short, she was paid less than $7,000 for the siding work and over $32,000 for the roof and gutters after the insurance kept over $20,000 in nonrecoverabe depreciation.

Mrs ***** continued to text us and harrass us and make threats to us in her pursuit to seal the deal that she wouldnt have to pay us the $12,000 she owed us for the completed work , including threatening to file lawsuits and make complaints about his Realty career.

She also stated the city inspector came out and told her we weren't registered didnt pull a permit and all work was not up to code. We are registered with Zanesville, we did pull a permit and the city inspector claims he never said any of that to her. He is currently schedule to go inspect the roof and give us a full report in writing which we will send over to attach to this complaint once we receive it.

In short Mrs ***** simply decided she was going to keep the remaining $19,500 in her pocket and cheat us for the work we have completed which has a remaining balance of over $12,000 for work completed, and in our pursuit to resolve this peacefully with her she has only become more viscous and has made a false complaint against us. I have advised Mrs ***** I will be filing a libel / slander lawsuit against her for making this false complaint unless she removes it. And since I have made the BBB aware of this litigation I would hope the that the BBB would not make this complaint viewable to the public until this issue has been settled in a court of law as to not damage our flawless reputation by the fraudulent claims of a customer who simply wants to steal the balance of our money on this project. Her roof is installed up to code, her gutters are installed, we tried to do the fascia and sidng but were pushed away, and we sent someone who completely cleaned up the roofing on the ground, The pictures she sent to you were from before we cleaned it up on August 8th.

I am rejecting this response because: That is a bunch of lies. It is going to cost us over $6000 to bring the work they did up to code. The roofers and Gary were rude to us from the day they showed up on our property. They installed gutters to rotten wood and wrapped facia around it so no one would notice. They left a big whole in my soffit. They damaged my deck. That's going to cost a couple of hundred dollars to fix. I have tried to be reasonable but we do not want them doing siding since they did damage and didn't do the work right.

      Regards,
