We utilized Freedom Design LLC (FD) to purchase Kraftmaid cabinets in two custom colors. I specifically asked if waiting a week for our rep to get back from vacation would cause issues as we were ordering custom colors during a sale and she assured me that it would not. After placing our order, she reached out and said we wouldn't be able to get the sale price because it would take too long to get the samples in and approved for the colors. I brought up our previous conversation and she said she'd eat the difference but our samples got there and were approved in time. I specifically asked if the 7 to **************************************** date colors are approved; she said order date and this is not correct. The timeframe starts when the samples are approved and there will be even more delays after this. At one point our cabinets "just weren't on the truck." Their sketch does not include information about fillers or the length of cabinet runs and the custom sizes are not included, only the cabinet part number. Our contractors took 3 additional days to get the cabinets hung because of this. We needed a replacement cabinet and when I requested this I asked if anything was needed from us. We received no response or confirmation that the cabinet was ordered. Our contractors put up the cabinets and fixed the damaged one as we didn't know if we had a replacement. I emailed to tell them a replacement was not needed and she informed me that it was on the way. They called me to let me know it had arrived and never once mentioned the damaged cabinet needed to be returned in order to pick up the replacement. We will not be picking up the replacement cabinet because we are not dismantling the kitchen at this point. Do not use this company. They are incapable of effective communication and will provide false information when you ask them direct questions because they do not know the answer.

Freedom Design only gives approximate times due to the variances of the manufactures capacity. KraftMaid does give us an approximate delivery date that is usually reliable but I can not guarantee delivery until they are in my warehouse. KraftMaid was running a 15% sale and yes we offered to give them the 15% if the timing on the custom color was not going to come in time. We do not state what fillers are to be cut to because of different field conditions. If the walls are out of square dimensions change. In this instance if you have 72" of base cabinets and you line up the wall cabinets to match math will tell you what the filler size is. This 15 cabinet kitchen had 2 fillers that needed to be cut for wall blind corner cabinets. One cabinet had a paint drip on the side. They agreed to accept it and hung the cabinet. They then changed their mind and wanted a replacement. We ordered a replacement cabinet. We never said they couldn't get the replacement until we get the other back. It is our policy to get the damaged cabinet back so if KraftMaid wants it back we have it for them. They decided they didn't want the cabinet. We have 47 emails to them during the course of their remodel job. I believe we tried our best to communicate but we are always striving to be the best in informing our clients in the process.

We used Freedom Kitchen Design, (FKD) to purchase our cabinets and our countertops. The first check I paid them was 07/30/2022, today is 11/26/2022. Just a couple days shy of 4 months. The way FKD is going it will be at least 5 months to get countertops delivered. To begin with, the professional we worked with measured the job site. She did not measure it correctly. So cabinets wouldnt fit between the two walls. Her first remark was that I signed off on the drawings. She said I had to pay to get those corrected top and bottom cabinets delivered. In that instance they did not charge us. The result, because they were very hesitant to rectify their mistakes it set us back nearly three weeks to a month, this time.Two days ago we found out FKD made and shipped cabinets for an adjacent wall that dont line up the wall cabinets to the base cabinets. The manager said thats how their place of business would design any ************* they refuse to ship the proper top 2 wall cabinets and angled cabinet unless we pay for them. There are three 30 inch Base cabinets and one 12 inch angled corner fill on the left end on that wall. For the top they delivered one 30 inch and two 36 inch for the top wall cabinets. In the mean time FKD is taking over two to three more weeks to measure the template for the countertop which we also have under contract there. What happens if someone hits their head on the corner top cabinet the way FKD has it designed.They are a very expensive way to go with the worst customer service. Definitely should have bought from a Box Store.

Freedom Design measured the kitchen before a wall was taken down. We normally don't do that because of the changes that can happen. We were assured the measurements were not going to change. When we realized the measurements were not going to work we ordered new cabinets. unfortunately new cabinets take 3 weeks to get in. Even though we were assured measurements were not changing we paid for new cabinets to make it all work. We go over the entire layout explaining each cabinet. They have perspectives to see how the kitchen will look. We then have them sign off that this is the layout they want. We designed the back wall to give the best utilization and value for the space. Wanting to change the cabinets after they are on the job and yes the layout was signed off on comes with the added cost of new cabinets. Counter tops need to be templated after the cabinets are set. Yes it takes 2-3 weeks after template to fabricate and install the tops.
