We hired Heating and Cooling Doctors, now Columbus Comfort Heating and Cooling, to design and install an HVAC system for a home that we were renovating in German Village. We went with their recommendation of a system and it was installed in mid 2022. We quickly realized that the system that was installed is too small for our home. The air handler runs continuously while trying to keep up. The air handler installed in our basement is 24k BTUs. There are many calculations but a rough number that I have found is that you need between 24-36 BTU's per square foot. The first floor of our home which is what the air handler is to heat and cool is 1,705 sq ft so we need an air handler between 40,920-61,380 BTUs. This is not calculating the fact that it is an old home with lots of old windows and 10 ft ceilings. The second floor of our home is heated and cooled by 2 mini split systems. 9k BTUs each. All 3 of the units, the 2 mini splits and the air handler in the basement are service by a heat pump outside. The heat pump is a 5 ton unit which can handle 60k BTUs. This unit is also substantially undersized. We have repeatedly been in contact with the company and we are told that they will make the situation right although nothing ever gets done. We gave them a deadline of January 4, 2022 before we contacted the BBB.Business response

2.7.2023, BBB received phone call from Tim S**** stating that business has contacted consumer and reached a resolution. At present waiting on parts and pieces to be delivered.
