We hired All-Test to complete my basement electric wiring and changing the recessed lights in great room and bedrooms. During the electric work, All-test damaged drywalls in multiple areas of the home. All-test owner agreed that damages were caused by his team but not willing to repair them. Owner Neil said "no one is perfect and these kind of drywall damages are expected with his team's work. if you donot want the damages, you shouldn't have hired All-test" Owner Neil is not willing share liability insurance and says insurance takes long time and not willing to provie the info. I am expecting All-Test to rapair what All-Test employees have damaged and complete all the work in an agreed maner - - Repair Drywall Damages in Office-2 - Rapair Greatroom cieling damages - Repair bedroom drywall damages - Aligh power outlet to an acceptablee maner.Business response

My apologies to the Better Business Bureau for not responding in a timely manner. However as 99% of the emails I receive through the better business site are spam & scams, I’m not so inclined to review this email box very often. I’ll be happy hear any suggestions you may have to reduce this.
However, as for the complaint? The words I read in print are not reflective of the conversations. The words that I read were absolutely not said!!!. And I have the text strings to prove that.
The client states that I said “ nobody’s perfect, and these things happen”
ACTUALLY, this client insisted that the 1 inch hole, which IS my error, and ONLY error, which a painter would normally repair, be repaired by a certified *** **** drywall company? And that it had to be “perfect!” Those are his words.
I replied , I don’t know anybody who is “ PERFECT”
“ PERFECT” is a judgment call, subjective to peoples experiences, inclinations, and in this case a particular desired outcome! THAT is exactly what I said about PERFECT!
And the man standing next to meet, heard every word of it!
So let’s re-read this complaint : the client decided to become his own general contractor. And in my experience, when homeowners decide to become their own general contractor, without proper training and experience, bad things happen: My case in point? Read on:
The light photographed is a 5 inch light the client insisted on supplying . These lights were to replace existing 4 inch lights. They were 30 feet above the floor. For the life of me, I still cannot determine what benefit would be achieved by adding 1 inch diameter to a flush mount ceiling light it’s 30 feet above the floor! But that was the clients decision. Replacing a flush mount ceiling light from the attic is not a bad project as long as the replacement is the same size! The finished and well appointed home is much too beautiful too to risk bringing a 30 foot scaffold in. We pointed out that he supplied the wrong size light fixtures, he said do your best.
Here, the color shade mismatch is due, once again, to the homeowner supplying an incorrect fixture.
The client was instructed to take that up with his drywall people. The outlets were mounted PRIOR to the drywall being installed. They were properly mounted, according to the measurement marks located on the side of each new work box.
Again, the client decided that he wanted an outlet mounted at the very top of wall where ceiling would meet it. The client marked the 2 x 4 studs. The outlet was mounted where the client requested. The client later brought in drywall people to hang the drywall. Again, I instructed the client to take that up with his drywall people.
This client demonstrated other errors in judgment: like having the ceilings in the basement painted BEFORE the electrical work was finished. This client offered no master plan for the work. Instead, this client insisted on having devices and fixtures, mounted in certain locations, then only to change several of these after they were installed. This required extensive rework, which was not compensated for. There were several times the client would enter the workspace change his mind about what he wanted, say he would be back in 10 minutes with his new plan, and be gone for two hours. And the whole time I’m paying for men to stand around to wait for his new instructions. No compensation for that, either.
As for the “agreeing to repair damage statement?” As stated earlier, I DID produce a hole in the first floor office drywall approximately 1 in square. At that time the client said don’t worry about it he would take care of it. He later said that we needed to repair it. When I offered to repair it, he went back to his “ *** **** certified drywall company requirement, and indicated that I was not qualified to repair the 1 inch hole.
However, in an effort to repair what is legitimately my error, he was asked to
produce a quote from a “PERFECT”company, one he would approve. If acceptable, I would pay upon proof by receipt. He replied that his drywaller “doesn’t produce paperwork!
Imagine that- * *** **** certified drywall company that won’t produce a receipt? I cannot even locate someone with those expensive credentials!
That, in my opinion, smells like a scam!
ALL-TEST & Electric Service has been in business for 30 years as of March this year with NO history dissatisfied customers that things could not be made right with. But this ?
In my opinion, smells like a scam.
This client went even further, insisting that I fire my men! I decided to NOT take his business advice, as I feel his judgement is suspect.
My offer to repair the 1 in drywall hole still stands, but will expire in 7 daysNeil V***, Owner

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below. If All-Test is NOT CAPABLE of installing the lights at 30ft height, they should have simply said WE CANNOT and i would have found a different eletrecian to do that job.
Mr.Neil says there was a discussion abot 4inch vs 6 at the install but that neveer happenes and Neil doesn't even know why i installed 6 inches lights. this clarifies, Owner Neil just coming up with what he wants but not the truth.
Simply- All-Test hass to fix what they broke.
Did All-Test broke the drywall at 30ft cieling? - YES
Did All-Test damage the wall in kids bedroom? = YES
Did All-Test put a hole in Office-2? -YES.
All-Test needs to accept that they damages the drywaall. See the picture of the damages i attached to the complaint.

As I stated, when the property owner decided to become a general contractor, he excepts responsibility for the materials he supplies. When they are the incorrect materials and he is advised, and says "do your best?" That's what happens. We have successfully replaced overhead lights in ceilings that are 30 feet high, but only with the proper materials. The key to moving that liability from the homeowner to the contractor is permitting the contractor to DETERMINE & SUPPLY the proper materials. Additionally, my man who worked in the attic indicated that the attic box for this light in question was never properly installed by the builder. That has been pointed out.
The other issues which you complain are due to drywall installation. This also has been pointed out
And for the life of me, I don't see any issue with the child's room, light switch other than you picked the wrong shade of device when you, once again, acting as a general contractor, supplied the fixtures. This also has been pointed out.
As for the hole in the office wall it's about an inch square? A hole that you said don't worry about it you'll take care of it. And now you've changed your mind? I have offered to fix that hole. But your requirements of being an *** **** certified drywall company are impossible to achieve. *** **** refers to manufacturing. Not a repair person. I will extend my time off for an additional seven days for you to accept my earlier offer to repair that hole.
When a homeowner decides to supply the items to be installed, it reminds me of a cartoon I saw in an automotive repair shop years ago. It shows a man walking into a restaurant, carrying raw bacon and eggs and asking them to cook it for him.
The few nickels and dimes that you saved by supplying your own material have resulted in this situation.
Was it worth it?
Neil

Please refrain from answering the questions for me that you have asked. I believe I have answered multiple times. If you’d like, I can go back and cut and paste all of my earlier replies. Because I do not know how to state my position any more clearly. Any dealings with my insurance company will certainly come back to me and they will ask if I am at fault. And I’m gonna go down the same road with them but I’m going down with you. You insisted on providing the devices that don’t fit the work. You SAID” just do your best.” You tried to bully my son over this, when I stepped in, you’re trying to bully me. Except your own responsibility for your own actions. I am done discussing it. I will take this final refusal for you to accept my offer to repair the 1 inch hole in your office as a rejection of my offer. Good day.Business response
