Metal pieces all over in pool, stabbing my children and myself. Went swimming while on a staycation and ended up leaving with crying kids. Tiny metal needle like pieces all over bottom of pool. First my 5 year old was stabbed in the toe, pulled it out confused, and threw it away. We threw our pool toys in for the kids to play, the tiny metal bits stuck all over to the magnet toys. My 11 year old saw them when he found one on the bottom. We took this up to the front desk to tell them, the blonde male manager made a shocked face and said "they look like tiny staples! We'll sweep the pool immediately". I went back in to tell my kids to leave the pool, when I got stabbed in the heel with one! I go out to the manager/owner (female, Indian) and ask what we can do about this, as it's ridiculous. She says, "I don't put staples in my pool, what do you want me to do?" She acted like I was bothering her, and that she did not care at all. No apologies, no apology to my children, no refund for a day or anything. After this I called Wyndom/La Quinta corporation, filed a complaint, and they seemed shocked by my story. The owners had a week to get back to me, after 8 days I contacted them. When I stated my reason for calling, they hung up! I called corporate again to tell them about this, they assured me I'd hear within 24 hours. About 30 minutes later a call from the hotel, a man stating they took over the business the day after we left and it's not him in charge of refunding me. I want my money back now! For the pain and suffering, and now the constant back and forth just to be heard.

I booked a two-night stay at this hotel for the night of April 19th and April 20th. My reservation confirmation # was *************, and my daughter and I checked in on April 19th as scheduled. The room we were assigned was pretty dismal. The room number was written in pencil on the wall outside the door because the room number sign must have fallen off at some point. Additionally, the sink leaked water from near the top of the faucet when it was turned on, and the dirty AC unit was blowing smelly air into the room. However, we were tired after our trip, and I thought we could live with the room for 2 nights. The next morning I found a tiny, live bug on the tile floor in the bathroom. I looked on the internet and determined that this was a bedbug. My daughter and I immediately gathered our belongings and checked out. At check out I made sure that the second night of our stay was refunded because we were checking out early and not using that day. After we left without causing a scene in the busy hotel lobby and breakfast area, I called and spoke with the assistant manager to ask for a refund for the night we stayed. He said that he would have the room inspected for bedbugs and call me back Monday after the inspection, and he asked me to email him the pictures I took of the bedbug. I emailed him that day (April 20th) and again on April 22nd after he didn't call as promised, but he never emailed or called me back. After a few more days passed without any contact from him I called the hotel and asked to speak with him. He wasn't available, so I left a message, but he never returned my phone calls. The hotel is dingy, dirty, and disreputable. Everyone on my daughter's soccer team who booked a room at this hotel had their own horror stories. This hotel is run by liars and shouldn't be in business. I would like the hotel to refund my credit card for the $161.75 that I was charged for that one night stay, and I want to warn other consumers to avoid this hotel at all costs.
