We had an oval cherry extension table made. We purchased a china cabinet, and 4 chairs. After a few years, I noticed the ends of the table aprons were cracking. I contacted Stone Barn Furnishings. Brian said I should use a repair pen to blend it. I told him the wood is actually cracking, and raising up, and I would like to find a workable solution. He said they could sand and stain the aprons. I asked if there would be a charge, and he didn't reply. I asked if he could have someone look at the table if they were up our way for a delivery. He declined. We would have to bring the table to him. He said they use steam to bend the wood, and then stain and clear finish. He stated that the wood was not completely dry before they applied the finish, so over time as the wood dried out, it may crack. A few days later, he informed me via text that his workers could not sand and stain the aprons, but they could replace the aprons for between $500.00-$600.00. I informed him that that price is 25% of the cost of the table. A few days later, I texted Brian and asked for a time to bring the table down. No reply. I waited a week, and inquired again. No reply. I inquired a week later, stating that his silence tells me he isn't willing to work with us. After another week went by, I inquired again. This time he replied with the excuse that he was on vacation for July 4th, and his secretary had a death in the family. I asked if we were texting on his personal cel, and did he have it with him on his vacation. He replied yes. I asked how could his secretary know I was texting while he had his phone on vacation. He then replied that refinishing the table was, "just not something we do." He seemed very accommodating when we bought the table, and the china cabinet, and four custom chairs, but when the table developed issues, he was not willing to find a workable solution. I do not recommend this store, unless you are aware that the customer service after the purchase is non existent.
