On June 24, 2024, the Ohio Attorney General’s Office and defendants Heather J. Jarrett, Classicmovies.org LLC and Jarrett Enterprises, Ltd., entered into an agreed consent judgment entry and order filed in Franklin County Common Pleas Court., finding the defendants committed unfair and deceptive acts and practices in violation of state laws, and continued to engage in some practices they agreed to refrain from in an earlier 2018 assurance of voluntary compliance, according to court records, including:

- Accepting full payments from consumers for DVDs or other goods and have at times failed to deliver those goods within eight weeks.

- On such occasions after failing to deliver goods in a timely fashion, failing to refund consumer payments despite consumer requests for refunds.

- Not immediately shipping goods to consumers and failing to communicate the delay to consumers.

- Website failed to clearly and conspicuously disclose to consumers their shipping, return, and refund policies prior to accepting payments from consumers for the purchase of goods.

- Failed to properly and timely respond to complaints and inquiries from their customers.

- Consumers have received DVDs and other goods from defendants that the consumers claimed are damaged or are otherwise of an inferior quality than defendants’ representations.

Further under the consent judgment,, according to court records:

- Defendants are ordered to pay civil penalties of $6,000, of which $3,000 will be suspended so long as the defendants comply in full with all provisions of the consent judgment.

- Defendants have agreed to pay $947.92 in restitution to 10 specified consumers identified by the Attorney General.

- Defendants shall resolve in good faith all future complaints filed by consumers with the Attorney General’s Office about any conduct of defendants that occurs after the filing of the consent judgment.
