I hired them to do heating and cooling on an addition I had done. Two other companies said it was not possible to extend my current duct work as it was Too far from the furnace and there wouldn’t be sufficient airflow. However, Joel promise they could do it and it would work fine. I paid over $5000 just for 4 vents to be added, one return, and the extended ductwork. There was no airflow at all from the two bedrooms. I couldn’t feel anything even with my hand against it. I was promised over and over it would work they would come back and adjust things. Most days they would never show up. I would work from home and wait all day on many occasions. I also have young children and asked for no work to be done after 6:30. The times they would randomly show up it was late and I’d have to ask them to leave at 10:30 sometimes even later. I was told again to wait until winter and see how it did. Well it was in the high 30s a few days, and it was 55 degrees in the addition. I asked for my money back since nothing functions as I was told it would. He kept saying to let him try one more thing, so he did. After 3 separate times he said he would show up and never did, he finally came and was here late again, 8:30pm. He said he’d be back the next day ( today ) to finish. Never showed up. Promised he would come in afternoon and be finished by 6:30. Never showed up. I want my money back since nothing works so I can get this settled from another company so my kids can have heat in their bedrooms.Business response

I am very familiar with this issue as I was just there last Wednesday working in the crawl space. When I learned that there was a big temperature difference in the garage that was converted into a new living space I was already prepared with a plan to rectify this because we didn’t get a chance to monitor the heating performance in January when we completed this job. I believe the bedrooms weren’t occupied until the weather warmed up a little bit and we didn’t receive any complaints all summer long so it was safe to assume the cooling airflow was adequate.
Because we did not have the proof that the system was properly conditioning the New living space and a heating mode we had discussed a few changes in the design and even made notes confirming that if there was an issue, we definitely going to be all over it even a promise was made to the homeowner that we would not stop until she was satisfied.
While I was there last week, I increased the piping size and removed the flexible duct from the crawlspace and installed bigger metal hard pipe on the two supply runs that Run to the bedrooms. In addition to the graded pipe, I installed two Air moving blowers in the ductwork to send another 300 CFM‘s to each room. The changes are 99% complete but due to the time I was asked to come back the next day last and we were not able to get there due to a conflict in schedule. I’m very confident in the results we will see from the changes I added and in under a half hour I can hook up the duck blowers and the job will be 100% complete and functioning and conditioning the bedrooms in the new living space Properly.
