I Purchased a used engine over the phone from Tyler at go fast tuner parts for 5,000 with a 30 day warranty. Never received an email with any warranty stipulations or anything on the engine. Just a text message from Tyler saying all parts have a 30 day warranty on them. A week after receiving and installing the engine there is a loud engine tapping. Took car to Subaru dealership and a performance shop for 2 different opinions. Both said the valves need adjusted on an engine that has 39k on it. Attempted reaching out to Tyler and company multiple time with no responses. Finally they said they would pay less than half after begging and continuous messaging. It’s going to cost near 3,000 dollars to have the valves adjusted on this engine I just purchased. The lack of communication and professionalism is unwarranted. I would like to have this issue investigated before someone else goes through this. They are not selling engines up to par and they are unsafe. Thank you.Business response

The purchaser of engine received a warranty form at time of delivery. Pre-purchase conversation as well as the warranty form indicate that a professional shop IS REQUIRED FOR INSTALLATION. Additionally, that wiring harness needed to be changed for it to work on her vehicle. Customer initially ignored those requests, by installing the engine on her own and not changing the wiring harness which leads to check engine light. After helping the customer work through that issue and reiterating that the harness MUST be changed out, she did so and problem was solved. Later, she asked stated the valves were now noisy, and again, as stated in the warranty form (which was voided when engine not installed by professional shop/mechanics), we cover PARTS ONLY NOT LABOR. I have offered to cover the parts cost, as well as some of the labor costs simply out of a good faith gesture. And customer replied with a story about her current situation and asked to speak to a manager or owner and we then never heard anything else. At this point, we have offered to compensate for the repair and be done with it. Or return the engine for a full refund, even though the warranty was voided by non-professional installation. I can provide screen shots of all relevant convos proving the above noted info. The customer has stopped responding and opened a ****** claim on the transaction. WE HAVE OFFERED A FULL REFUND WITH RETURN OF THE ITEM, OR TO PAY FOR THE COST OF THE PARTS TO REPAIR. The customer has not responded to several attempts for us to ask which route they would like to go towards resolution, and at this point, there is nothing more we can do without some assistance on the customers end.
