Overall rating is 1/10. Had a good experience with the CCW course at this facility, but this facility itself and it's staff is the issue. Eddie was rude and accused my friend and I of using ammunition which we did not use. He was very rude to us. To start the day, the employee at the counter clearly ignored what I said and wasted our time to fill out some form that wasn't even needed, and then had to wait back in line for him to then listen and direct us to where we needed to go for our course, and he led us to the wrong place! Extremely dissatisfied with the staff. Horrible experience for first time ever at this range, and can say with confidence that I will NEVER return.

Parma Armory Shooting Center Gun Safety Training Institute Response

      10/16/2023

Dear ****. As the President and Owner of Parma Armory Shooting Center – Gun Safety Training Institute, I want to assure you that we strive to provide the highest levels of support and customer care to everyone who enters our facility. It is unacceptable for any member of our staff to provide anything less than exceptional service. I apologize if the range officer on duty during your visit was perceived as rude. He should not have treated you in that manner, regardless of any frustration you may have been feeling. However, I believe there is some important information that you should be aware of regarding this incident. Technically, you were not a customer of PASC-GSTI, but rather a customer of the private CCW Class company from which you purchased your class. This company rents classrooms and range time from us as needed. We have certain rules in place for the safety of everyone, and these rules were communicated to the private CCW Class company. Unfortunately, it seems that you were caught in the middle of this situation. While you had already signed a liability waiver required by the private company, all individuals using our ranges must also sign an official PASC-GSTI waiver for everyone's protection. It is possible that the out-of-state manager of the private CCW Class company failed to inform your Ohio instructor about the need to sign our waiver, or perhaps the instructor forgot to inform you. Either way, I understand how frustrating it must have been for you to be told that you needed to sign a second waiver without knowing all the facts. Upon investigating this event, I discovered that our registration team member who was assisting you in finding the correct classroom became flustered and missed your classroom. However, this mistake was quickly rectified, as all five of our classrooms are in close proximity to each other. I also understand that being challenged about the steel case ammo found in your shooting stall may have further increased your frustration. While the company that brought you to our range is responsible for providing Range Safety Officer services, we additionally provide our own trained Range Safety Officers when we are not familiar with the visiting instructor. This is not a requirement, but rather an additional service we offer as part of our commitment to customer care. When our Range Safety Officer noticed discharged steel cartridges in your stall, he was obligated to inform you that steel cartridges are not allowed. If other members of your class had used your stall before you, it would explain why the steel cartridges were present while you were shooting. Once again, it seems that you were caught in the middle of a breakdown in communication between your independent CCW instruction company and their instructors. I understand that it may not matter much at this point, but I want to point out that the second waiver you signed (our waiver) clearly stated that steel cased ammo was prohibited. It also included a separate directive emphasizing this point. I mention this only to highlight the importance of this rule. ****, my goal is for you to understand the circumstances surrounding your unusual experience at Parma Armory Shooting Center – Gun Safety Training Institute. If you would like an opportunity to learn about what you missed due to the communication failure of the company that brought you to our range, I invite you to be my guest, free of charge. Please reach out to our Executive Manager, Heather ******* at ************, and she will schedule a convenient time for you and a friend to experience live fire shooting as well as our laser guns on PASC +V, our Digital Assault Survival Theater. Sincerely, Robert ******, President
