I hired *** (owner of Imperial Concrete Sealing and Stamping) in February 2023 to remove my deck and install a concrete patio and porch. I paid him half upfront (5544.00) and unfortunately paid him the other (5544.00) when he requested it, after the patio was finished, but prior to completion of the porch. Since then he has failed to finish the porch and stairs. The stair risers and treads are significantly unequal in size and aside from looking terrible they do not meet code. The landing is very sloped. The sides of the porch and stair fronts are unfinished as he started to apply decorative stones but never finished. The grout is a different color and concrete is splattered on the patio. The whole job is very sloppy. He also broke the seal on my sliding doors with a power washer and now they leak water between the panes. I have contacted *** multiple times over the course of many months to either repair this or give me a partial refund so I can have it repaired and he always says he will fix it but never shows up. It’s been 8 months. I paid in full but I still don’t have what I paid for

I am rejecting this response because:

I am not rejecting the response but we did not reach a solution. I would like to send the following message :

since I don't know what the cost would be to repair the porch and stairs to meet code and clean up the concrete spills on the patio would it be fair to get a quote from another company and reimburse me the amount ?
As far as the doors I don't expect you to pay the whole cost. The cheapest doors at Lowe's are around 500-600 and with labor it would probably be 1000-1200 minimum for the cheapest ones. I will be happy with 500$ and I'll pay the rest. I don't want the cheapest ones but I don't expect you to pay for that.
Do you have any other ideas for how to resolve this ?

The deal discussed was $500.00 for the door and the business would pay half, however if the consumer is getting a completely new door instead of swapping the door itself the business will pay $500.00. The business will pay half of $500.00 if only swapping out the door. The business mentioned the consumers house is in bad shape around the doors and siding and they have never seen moisture get in like that, neither did the contractor that was there with them. Business is not completely sure of the cause. Regarding the steps, the business had an employee there that had carpentry skills who ended up messing up on of the steps. The block work was fine there was only an issue with the steps. The contact was made during the weekend when the business was not in. The business told the consumer they are here to help and will replace the steps in the spring. She is able to use it right now. Apologized the steps were messed up. The business mentioned they did knock on the door and offered to put topsoil down and spread it and that was completed. That work was around $500 with fuel, labor and equipment. The consumer did not pay for that, however the business did not ask about it because they were having issues with the door and it was around the same price ($500.00). The business stated they will work with the consumer through and through to get everything resolved the best they can. The problems happened mainly due to the help the business hired making matters worse and being unable to find quality help. When the business went to seal the patio the consumer told them to hold off. The business had to do it when the weather was permitting and questioned why because they were already there. However later on the consumer asked if they were going to finish it. The business stated they were under the impression the consumer wanted them to wait. If the consumer decides they want to have the it fixed in the spring the business stated they will make her a priority and create a deadline for her.
