I purchased a 2017 Chevrolet Colorado from them new. At 11000 miles I had a shudder vibration in the torque converter/transmission. They did a fluid flush. This took care of the problem until 16000 miles. Same problem. They replaced the torque converter. This fixed the problem until 25000 miles. Same problem. They changed the fluid and flushed again. This was all done under warranty. The problem came back at 53000 miles. This time the warranty was up. Baumann charged me $4500 to replace the torque converter. If they would of repaired the problem correctly the first three time I would have to go back the fourth time for them to charge me. This does not seem ethical to me. I have the paperwork to prove this. I can get it to you if need be. I would appreciate any help in this matter. Thanks **** ********

      Good Afternoon,

I am sending 3 copy's of work orders that have been open under Mr. ********'s  name.

in the first 2 copies we opened on behalf of General Motors (at Tiffin Location) and the 3rd would have been opened at the Fremont location in which is a retail billing.

I have no control over that work order/billing at that location, but i will add that the repair was done under warranty at 11,012 miles and again at 16,294 at no charge to customer.

at 53,815 he is now out of Factory warranty ?

      Thanks for your time

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
I dropped the vehicle off for service at the Tiffin location all four times. Customer # ***** is on all four invoices. Baumann did all four repairs. They may have transferred the vehicle to the Baumann dealership in Fremont the last two times. I was told that Tiffin did not have a qualified technician to work on transmissions. Did they have someone qualified the first and second time? If they did, their should not have been a third and fourth time. The third time was also under warranty at 24908 miles. Invoice number ******. ******************** is on all four invoices and Baumann is responsible for all four repairs.
      Sincerely,

      **** ********

      Good Afternoon,

I have attached a copy of the Warranty that is on the 2017 Colorado and as it shows he is out of warranty and ALL previous repairs were covered by his Warranty,

with this being said it appears his argument is with General Motors because Baumann Autogroup has satisfied the issue of repair?

Again i am playing as "middle Man" because it is not my service department , but i was told that Mr. ******** was presented with the repair cost and he approved/signed permission to do the repair at

the price he is now complaining about.

      Again thanks for your time

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

I was verbally made aware of the cost for repair. I needed the vehicle repaired. What choice did I have? Baughman Auto Group should repaired the Colorado correctly the three times they worked on it under warranty. Baugmannn  Auto Group is admitting to selling me a new vehicle with a flawed transmission. They need to make it right. What did I do wrong that I am stuck with a vehicle that that has 54000 miles on it and is worthless. What am I supposed to do? Drive the truck until it comes back and pay Baughman another $4500? The problem will be back! My conscious will not let me sell it to someone else, knowing that it has a junk transmission. Passing the problem off on General Motors or another Baughmann dealer does not excuse ****** ****** from guilt.
      Truthfully,

      **** ********

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to file a formal complaint under the Ohio Lemon Law, or any other law that may apply, . against Baumann Chevrolet Buick GMC Tiffin, located at 2291 West State Rt. 18, Tiffin, OH 44883, specifically concerning the purchase of a Gold 2015 GMC Acadia on July 3rd, 2023, from salesman ***** *******. On the aforementioned date, I purchased the above-mentioned vehicle for about $11,000. To my dismay, shortly after the purchase, on July 27th, 2023, I discovered significant issues with the vehicle's AC system. The AC condenser was broken, and one of the AC condenser hoses was severely rusted, resulting in a complete fracture. The repair estimate for these issues amounts to approximately $1800 according to Monro Auto Service And Tire Center, 2400 OH-18, Tiffin, Ohio 44883. As a consumer, I believe that this vehicle was sold to me with concealed defects, rendering it unsafe and not meeting the standards of quality and performance that I was led to expect. The defects substantially impair the use, value, and safety of the vehicle. I have attempted to resolve the matter amicably with Baumann Chevrolet Buick GMC Tiffin and Salesman ***** *******, but my attempts have been unsuccessful. Despite my efforts to address the concerns, they have been unresponsive and unwilling to offer a satisfactory resolution. Under the Ohio Lemon Law, I am entitled to a refund, replacement, or appropriate compensation for the substantial defects and issues experienced with this vehicle. I request the Ohio Attorney General's Office's intervention in this matter to help reach a fair resolution. I kindly request that the Ohio Attorney General's Office investigates this matter promptly and takes appropriate action to ensure my rights as a consumer are protected. I look forward to a fair resolution and appreciate your attention to this matter. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, ****** *******

      08/14/2023

      Good Afternoon

As  requested, our documentation to the ******* purchase is as follows:

Mr. ******* bought the 2015 Acadia with an "AS IS" warranty because of the miles and age, although there were extended coverage available for additional costs he declined then (2nd doc)

on 08/14/20203 i discussed the issue with the Acadia and promised to have a technician look at his issue at no charge but he would be responsible for any repairs needed.

as I explained to Mr *******  we sell "as is" for just the reason of his situation, we have no control of  the wear and tear  on a 150,000 mile vehicle and if we thought it was unsafe we would just wholesale it.

      Thank You

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

Upon further discovery of the documents issued face-to-face by ***** *******, a sales person at Baumann Auto Group, on July 3rd, 2023 and August 14th, 2023, I have come to realize that the 2015 GMC Acadia was sold “As Is” to me, except for the fact that I have 90 days from the purchase date, July 3rd, 2023 to purchase a service contract. Baumann refused to provide me with or let me purchase any service contract within the 90 day window, even if I initially declined it or not.
I am still within the 90 day window, in case I decided to change my mind. This proof has already been provided by **** ****. The cost of this service contract was almost half the cost of my monthly vehicle payment, which is why I, and why anyone else, would obviously decline purchasing a service contract.

I believe Baumann is inspecting the 2015 GMC Acadia so that they can form a defense for why their service team was negligent from reporting such an obvious problem. The 2015 GMC Acadia came with R-134a coated all over the internal components of the vehicle due to the current front frame damage that Baumann and CarFax failed to disclose, which caused an AC condenser hose to sever. Allowing a buyer to purchase a car with R-134a already sprayed and currently spraying all over the car and into the atmosphere is an EPA violation under Title VI of the clean air act. This would have been obviously seen during the lube, oil and filter change, as well as the air filter replacement, and as well as the cabin filter replacement that was started on 04/24/2023, and completed on 04/26/2023. The 2015 GMC Acadia was reported to have been damaged in 2018, which is why this would have been easily seen.

Also, for the record, Monro Auto Service Center and Tire Center stated that the front passenger wheel well is bent in, on August 12th, 2023, during an inspection of the 2015 GMC Acadia. I bent in wheel well would have been obviously noticeable when Baumann Auto Group’s service center did a pre-delivery inspection, did tire rotation on the, when they mounted and balanced 4 tires, and during the brake repair of the 2015 GMC Acadia. Again, Baumann started the “inspection” and “repairs” of the 2015 GMC Acadia on April 24, 2023 and then completed the “inspection” and “repairs” on April 26, 2023.

It is true that Baumann does not care about their customer when it comes to making sure that their customer drives away in a structural safe and sound vehicle, and that their customer isn’t releasing R-134a into the earth’s atmosphere due to structural damage that was never revealed to the customer. This is an obvious act of car dealership fraud by Baumann Auto Group, and until Baumann fixes the problem to my satisfaction, I will keep perusing remedies.

      Sincerely,

      ****** *******

      Good Afternoon,

In response to MR **** :

On Friday 4/14/23 he stopped in to get a appraisal/buy figure for his wife's 2018 Corvette, talking to my Business Manager who was good friends with Mr. ****s son so he had a personal connection to  Mr. ****.

that being said he appraised the corvette with little experience on the process he agreed to a purchase number on the 2018 Corvette but when on Monday 4/17/23 we were able to get the said car into our service department we were

able to see a lot of poor workmanship on the car. we then did a mor intense history check off of a website titled  "BADVIN"  (see Attachment) and realized the car had a salvage title in the state of *******, it was then moved/sold to ********

where the dealer then was able to change title.

I then told Mr ****s i was not interested in his Corvette for that reason, and that i could not sell the Corvette in good conscience knowing the situation. I advised him to go back to the dealer he purchased it off of?
