******* did some small projects on a vacant rental property. His last thing was to install a new toilet. I asked him to be careful because we had just refinished the hardwood flooring. He of course said they would be very careful. Well of course they ended up scratching the floor. I allowed him to try to repair it because he had done pretty well on the other projects and he seemed like a responsible guy, like he would repair it well because he felt bad. Unfortunately the repair took a long time and in the end it was not repaired at all. Their repair actually made it worse. I had to call a hardwood refinishing company to rebuff the entire first floor of the house. I asked ******* to pay for the repair and never heard back.Business response

Hello yes this customer I spoke to about the job and offered everything to right my wrong. I had a floor specialist scheduled as she declined and wanted to hire her own and charge me their price in which I could not agree due to payroll & budgeting.

I am rejecting this response because: lack of ability to pay to rectify his mistake is not an excuse for cutting off communication and being unwilling to right a wrong. I declined his offer for another "specialist" to work on it more because *******'s overall oversight on the situation was very poor and costing me lots of money as the house was vacant and the only thing delaying moving in a tenant was this flooring issue. He also already had a "specialist" work on it who was obviously not. I had lost trust in him at this point and would not allow him or any of his workers back on my property to further damage the floor or other parts of the house.

Hatfield came an quoted a Job on 5/22, I received a quote from them and signed a contract on May 24th. Up until this point communication was great between myself and Hatfield. They said they would come to discuss the job further in detail on 5/30 at 1pm. On 5/30 at 1pm, they stated that they were running late. Every few hours or so I would ask where they were, and I would receive a text like "Wrapping up now", then they didn't show up for the whole day. According to the contact, one of the employees had an injury, so this is why he couldn't make the appointment. This is understandable, but not necessary an excuse for the several hours of "wrapping up now". We rescheduled for the following day (5/31) at 8:30am. They never showed up, and I have not heard anything from the company since. I told him that if I had not received something by 7:40pm that day to consider our contract canceled. I still have a signed contract with the company, and I need to verify that the contact is no longer valid. Its a shame because I was looking forward to working with them.Business response

My sincere apologies for any miscommunication, I voided contract after closer inspection on the scope of work. Permits would have needed to be pulled in which time was a factor in the process. My team should have alerted Mr.****** and if he didn’t receive the message I personally apologize.
