I ******** ******* am writing in concern about this business that I am not happy with! They are not being fair! I went to Zulus Gold on Bancroft St. in central Toledo on Detroit Ave. where there's a little Plaza! The owner **** is discriminating against me because I am a woman and Latino-Black. I have done pa id for my son's grill with him (3X). My son is a high school student at ****** High School * *** *******. He graduates this year. So for his last 3 birthdays he wanted a old grill on his teeth. I paid $400, $500.00, $400 each time. I have spent good money with this man and he is not being professional for some reason unknowing what's the reason. He will not mold me for a grill. He keeps saying he's not ready. Like what do you mean. I started asking him this last time, 9/1/21 before my son's birthday. Well he never was ready supposedly then my son's birthday came. 10/9/21 and I asked him again, he says he still not ready. I ask him day my son was getting molded. He couldn't do it. Then I asked him last week Nov. 1, 2021. He says he still not ready.Business response

I am writing in response to the complaint lodged against me and my business, ZuluGrillz, LLC located in The Scrap Spot LLC, at **** ** ******** *** * in Toledo. I am the owner and operator of this business. First I would like to address the statement made by Ms. ******* regarding discrimination agaisint her for being a Latino-Black women. This is absurd, I am a black male, and I wouldn't care what color or gender someone is as this is how I pay my bills and feed my family which includes 3 daughters, and a wife whom is also biracial. With that out of the way I would like to address the misinformation of her paying for goods on 3 occasions not sure where or why she got 400,500, and 400. She has actually only purchased my product twice for her son and I will include those receipts for 320 on 1st purchase and 390 on the second. On the first purchase I gave her a discounted price because she keep trying to get a deal and talk down the original price. I gave in and gave it to her because her son really wanted the product. My policy is half down for me to begin the custom work and half when the product is complete and picked up. I also let her make payments which is outside of my typical policy. You can clearly see this marked on both receipts. So on the first occasion which began in October 21st 2020, as she was making payment installments she begged me to please let her owe me 50 and paid everything up to the last 50 which was never paid for a whole year until her son lost his first order and wanted another which I still agreed to do if she paid the remainder balance of 50 off. So fast forward to 10/07/21 when she requested for the second purchase she still did not have her required 1/2 payment down and agasint my better judgment I still proceeded to do the order again. Also mind you my policy in writing on the receipt states that you have 30 days to pick up your order and I also verbally informed her of this as well and it still took her over 90 days to pay for the first order minus the 50 she still owed on the product. Also each and every time she has been in my business establishment she has exhibited strange and confrontational behavior that had also made me hesitant to provide her services. But I still did complete them for her son because he was rational. So in conclusion she asked me to to do a product for her while with her son and I told her it would be 1/2 down because I can not continue to go agaisint my policy. Half down would have been $195.00 she then went to tell me she only had $50 to put down. So yes, I told her I could not do it at that time until she has the required payment. This complaint is the next that I have heard after telling her she needed the half down. I repeated it to her several times while we were discussing this. So know I really do prefer not to deal with her regarding my customized product. She did not honor her agreement to pay already so if I would have done business with her for a third time it would not have been a smart business decision on my behalf because she already showed me twice before that she was not going to honor my policies. So sorry at this time I will not be able to provide her with any customized orders which typically take me between 24 to 72 hours of hands on work. I take my skills and abilities and time very seriously and she continued to disregard the policies that are set forth to keep my business running as smooth as possible.
