On 02/01/2022, I called Jack L Woods Plumbing Co., Inc about a leak on the bonus room sealing and I have explained that the leak is coming from the master bathroom. I clearly explained them on the call that I know where is the leak is coming from and I want someone to come and check if they can fix it. A technician named Rick arrived at our house and looked at the roof and the bathroom and said this is something they don't fix. He gave me a number for another handyman company. Neither the company who answered my call and nor the technician informed that they will be charging me for the visit. They didn't even disclose it before entering my house. After 2 days, I received an invoice for $96. When I called the company about the invoice, they mentioned that it should be presumed that they will charge for the visit and they don't disclose these details when a customer calls in. And most of their customers are repeated customers , so they assumed that I was also a repeated customer. There is no information about the minimum charge, they do not have any website to check what they would charge.Business response

We are sorry Mr ******* was unhappy with the service. He called our office 2/1/2022 to request a service call ,the write up description was - Locate/ repair a leak in the ceiling - advise on a slow drain. On 2/9/ 2022 tech. named Avesta arrived found two locations with stains on the ceiling one newer was under the shower that the owner noted when the tech went up stairs there was water on the floor out side the shower. The tech. showed the owner a bad seal on the door and noted that the" surround " walls also were letting water penetrate through. The tech. did locate the leaks for the owner and deserves to be paid for his time. Mr ******* called the office and claimed that the guy on the phone told him that there would not be a charge for the call. I am the service manager who in this case did take the original call I did not say anything about locating a leak in ceiling for free. The owner then said that the tech told him no charge again after consulting with the tech. we did not tell him that

I am rejecting this response because: The company never disclosed their minimum hourly rate that they will be charging me if a technician comes for the visit. Per the person I spoke to on the phone, they get calls from repeated customers and they would know the cost. I am not a repeated customer and they didn't tell me about the cost upfront.
