For 1-800 Plumbers to start the repair it was stated to me that there would be an extra $175.00 dollar charge that ****** **** Warranty would not cover. The email did not state what these items were and I did not find out until later what 1-800-Plumbers stated to ***. They recently sent me the items you stated to them that would not be covered. They were the following (see attachment aslo). 1. Drain Pan 2. Water and drain lines 3. T&P valve None of these items were replaced during the changing of my water heater. At the time of his completion no other items were changed, I maintained the original drain pan, lines and the valve comes with the water heater and I used the original hardline off the valve from the old water heater. I paid my $175.00 after the install because I feel it was not 1-800-Plumbers fault for not stating what the charge was and I was not going to hold up or argue with ******* late on a Friday night since it was not of his doing anyway. The next week I asked 1-800-Plumbers for an invoice of what the charge was for and ******* was able to send me an invoice (see attached) that stated the charge was for.. 1. Draining the water heater. 2. Dispose of the water heater. At that point I went to *** to ask them for some information as to why I was charged for "Disposal" of the water heater when they in fact cover this cost. After several months of using the *** conversation portal and receiving no answer I was given a case manager ******** *******. After speaking with her this week she stated that since they paid 1-800-Plumbers for removal I have to take it up with 1-800-Plumbers for a refund. That is the point I am at. !-800-Plumbers double charged for the Removal/Disposal of the water heater to both parties. I am also curious about the charge for draining the water heater, this seems to be obscure to me and I plan on looking into this further as well. *** deems this as a "Maintenance" function so they do not cover it.

$175 was for draining and disposal of the claimant's old water heater. Claimant out of pocket was determined by ****** **** warranty upon summiting diagnosed and cost for replacement NOT by 1-800-Plumber +Air of Yukon. Per my understanding, all ****** customers have always paid those fees. Thank you.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

As you can see in the attached message from ***, 1-800-Plumbers stated to them the extra charges would be for...

Drain Pan, Water and drain lines & a T&P valve.

I received none of these items as seen by the receipt from 1-800-Plumbers (attached previously).

Disposal of the water heater is covered by the warranty.  At time of service I also asked ******* if the extra charge would be for disposal I could take care of that myself.  He stated that is not what the extra charge would be for.  He was not even sure what the extra charge was for.

I would have also drained the water heater myself if I knew in advance the charge would be for that.  I know I have no way to prove this so that aspect of this complaint is only bothersome since I can't believe draining a water heater is a separate charge.

1-800-Plumbers gave *** a list of separate charges that I did not need so after the install they changed those items to something different to collect the money.  One is covered by the warranty and the other (water draining) is something I would like to see on any itemized water heater change they have completed.

      Sincerely,

      **** *****
