On August 15, 2023, I drove my 2002 Chrysler Concorde LXI to TC's Automotive and Transmission to have a failing transmission diagnosed and repaired. After several days, he called me and said it needed a full rebuild. I agreed to let him fully rebuild it, and gave him a deposit of $2,000 so he could start buying parts. After two months of excuses how he couldn't get a shift solenoid because they don't make them any more, and his vendor didn't have one, he finally ordered one off of Ebay. When he finally finished it, I went to pick up the car. He warned me there was a little "bump" in second gear, but it would go away as the new solenoid "relearned" the timing of the new build. I immediately noticed a hard shift into second gear while pulling across the road from the auto shop. I managed to make it four of the seven miles heading home before I got a check engine warning light.Upon arriving home, I hooked up my electronic diagnostic computer to the car to check for codes. It was giving me the same codes the car had before I took it to the shop to have it rebuilt. I called him and explained what was happening. He said I should disconnect the battery and touch the terminals together to clear the codes and that should fix it. I refused to work on it myself and took it back to his shop so he could see what was going on.Back at the shop, he cleared the codes, but the light came on again. He took the car back and put in another solenoid several months later. It lasted a week before failing and trashing the rebuilt transmission. He towed it back to his shop. After several more weeks, he ordered a rebuilt transmission from ********. Two months more waiting, and I picked up the car. This time the transmission failed seven miles from the shop and locked up the engine and tires, nearly causing me to wreck. Now I'm waiting for him to put in another rebuilt transmission. I'm scared to drive my car when I get it back in a week or two from the time of this report.
