The business offered subscription subscribers 2 free beef ribeyes for any subscription orders over $149.I placed an order that qualified for the free offer and instead of receiving 2 beef ribeye, because they were out of stock, I received a single beef tenderloin as a substitute. They did not contact me about the substitute nor did they mention a substitution policy in any of their offers. I believe the solitary beef tenderloin is not an appropriate substitute. Instead of rectifying the discrepancy they offered to add the 2 beef ribeyes to the next subscription order. This left me with little confidence as I received an email today with the same offer and their website lists the ribeyes as available for purchase, while other cuts are listed as out of stock. I feel like I was misled by their offer and did not receive what was advertised. I want to return the beef tenderloin and receive 2 beef ribeyes as was originally offered. The total of my order was discounted by other ********* subtotal was ****** Total was ******

We are truly sorry for the disappointment and dissatisfaction caused by the substitution received for the free boneless ribeyes. We were out of the boneless ribeyes due to an unexpected butcher delay, unfortunately. We do not offer these on our site- these are only offered for our free promotions and not available to purchase.

The two tenderloins you received as the substitution were of similar value, and come 2 in one pack. (there is confusion on that sometimes)

We did our best to try to make it right for you by offering these two free ribeyes in your next subscription box in addition to the two free ribeyes in that box for a total of 4 free ribeyes, but unfortunately the subscription was cancelled.

We are a very small family business, and unfortunately we do not have a system set up to send out notifications of possible substitutions to all of our affected customers beforehand. We do our very best to make things right for our customers and offer similar items of equal value.

We do not take returns on meat, which is why we offered for you to keep the tenderloins received in addition to the 2 free ribeyes we were including in your next shipment.

We apologize again for this issue with your free ribeye substitution and all frustration and loss in confidence you experienced.

I am rejecting this response because:

The website offers bone in rib eye steaks for sell individually. In any store boneless ribeye steaks sell for a higher per pound price than boneless. The bone in ribeye steaks on Oregon Valley Farms website are posted for $41.99 for 16oz. The tenderloin steaks are posted on their website for ***** for 8oz. When I started my subscription I was promised 2 boneless beef ribeyes. The estimated value for these 2 ribeyes would have been similar to the bone-in ribeye offerings at $41.99. I instead received 10oz of tenderloin steak worth about $37.50. ********** sells for $3.75/oz ribeye for $2.62/oz. I was substituted a more costly cut of lesser value and as a result received less weight ($/oz) than was promised. 2 ribeyes, would've provided more meat at a lower cost than 2 tenderloins. Although there was no promise of how much my 2 boneless ribeyes would weigh, this was not a fair substitute. My order wasn't even being processed until I followed up with the business, which was strange because I requested to add a lb of chicken feet, which came first and shipped separately, instead of with my whole order. And if a business promised you 2 ribeye steaks and sent 2 tiny tenderloins as a substitue without even consulting with you first, why would you spend another $176 just to get what you were offered in the first place. I had 0 confidence you could get me 4 boneless ribeyes when you couldn't even get me 2 to start with.

      Sincerely,

      ***** *******
