Chiimcare may do an ok job as chimney sweeps, BUT we would NOT RECOMMEND them for chimney repair! After 2 trees fell on our house and broke off the top 4-5 feet of the chimney, Chimcare said they could repair it. However, after a few months we noticed the entire structure was nearly 2 inches away from the house. ***** *******, the owner, said they could demolish and rebuild the chimney for $17,000 +. Total rebuild should have been done in the first place. We had already paid over $8000 and Chimcare would give us $3000 credit towards the rebuild. As has been stated in previous reviews, the owner said "you still have an Open Claim, the insurance will pay for it." Also as previously stated, we too believe this company takes advantage of senior citizens! If you are looking for chimney repair make sure that the company is on the State of Oregon Business Registry as well as has an active CCB license.Review from Kathy S

Took advantage of an elderly friend of mine. Charged $2200 for new gas logs, which were installed backwards and upside down. Didn't test before leaving, and was threatening and demanding she pay. After he left, fireplace doesn't work. had another company (******************** in Auburn) out to look. They were fantastic! Indicated should have only been about $500 for logs, and that they were installed incorrect. We have tried to contact chimcare, with no response. A year ago, Chimcare came out and inspected out chimney and found several places of damage that needed repair. They quoted us about $8000 worth of repairs and advised us to contact our home insurance company to help pay for the repairs. We filed a claim with our home owners insurance (they wired us the money up front) and scheduled the work to be complete. Chimcare required 50% down at scheduling, so I paid them about $4000 to get on the schedule. 3 months later, a Chimcare employee came to start the repairs and decided that we actually DIDN’T need $8000 worth of work, that he could do it for half that. This was very upsetting since we had already involved our insurance company, which has now impacted our premiums. The technician said he would send us a new quote with the repairs he was recommending. More than a month passed and we never got this new quote. Fed up, I called and explained that we will not be working with Chimcare and that my $4000 needs to be refunded because Chimcare never did any of the work that they initially set out to do. It’s been 3 months since and my $4000 is STILL not refunded and I keep getting the runaround whenever I call to check up on the status. Beware! This company is extremely unprofessional. I will be reporting to authorities soon if I do not get my refund ASAP.Review from John L

This place totally ripped me off... I scheduled a service appointment for $449 dollars... the service tech was there for only 45 minutes, and the fireplace was working. He said you might need a part if my "cleaning" does not work... 2 days later the fireplace does not work, so I ask for a quote on parts and labor to fix. I also asked if my $449 or part of it would go towards the next appointment. The quote comes in at $1,500 with a courtesy deduction of $225 to bring my total to $1,250! The part are only $300 and I know the install is not complicated... so they want $950 for the install, but originally without discount wanted $1,200! Obviously, I went eslewhere and will never be back. They robbed me of $449 and that is enough....Review from Deborah C.

We asked Chimcare to inspect our chimney. It was found to have a crack, and we were given options to manage this issue. We decided to purchase an insert. We paid over $3000 dollars for the product. On the day it was to be installed, we were told we would need to contract an electrician. Apparently, the workers who had come out before the install didnt know that. We found out the only person who did the actual work lives in ***************** every few months to ****. There wouldn't be anyone available if we had an issue. We decided not to proceed. We were told we would be given a refund, minus $250 restocking fee. We were told our refund was forthcoming, but we haven't received it. We have called multiple times, emailed, threatened legal action, all to no avail. This happened in April. It is now September, and still no refund. My husband was given a managers email to contact, but he has not acknowledged our email. This was a lot of money to us. We reached out in good faith. These people are a sham service. Incredibly unprofessional, dishonest, and unethical. It is most likely we will not get our money back, despite their promise of a refund. Save yourself a lot of trouble...avoid this company.Review from Steven S

Chimcare management reneged on an agreement to pay us for damages caused by their workers. The damage was the result of work done to a neighbors chimney. Due to the close proximity of the neighbors chimney to our house, Chimcare did the majority of the work in our adjacent driveway. Much of the work involved the use of grinders to remove mortar. The workers wore no personal protective gear and used no dust containment measure when grinding mortar. Silica dust was coated our windows, skylights, roof and much of our property. Chimcare management agreed to pay for cost to replace two windows and to clean up our property. Payment has not been received. The fact that Chimcare reneged on the agreement has forced us to file a claim with the ***************. Beware of this dishonest company. I wish I could give zero stars.Review from Karen S

Does not complete contracted work! They started 10 months ago but have only completed 1/2 the work. We paid 1/2 up front. They keep sending invoices expecting remaining payment but wont schedule completion of remaining work. Horrible customer service!Review from Devon G

Original quote included scaffolding that the technician did not use but used a 40 foot ladder. After work completed requested a new invoice to reflect no scaffolding. During the work technician found 2 wasps nest in a 27 year old chimney. He asked if we had a can of wasp killer and we provided. When new invoice was issued they charged $150 for use of a 40 foot ladder and $50 per wasp nest for a total of $100. Guess I figured you are working on chimneys as a company and need ladders etc to reach chimneys why is there a separate charge. If the chimney was 10 feet off the ground do they charge for an 8 foot ladder? Was not told by the technician that there would be a $50 per nest charge. One nest was 3 long as it was thrown on the ground and the other is not anywhere to be found.Company needs to be up front on charges not just try and come in with a low number and then nickel dime you. On the original appointment crew did not show up and received no call as they would not be coming, waiting 4 hours for no show.Review from Cindy W

***** came to assess the chimney. He was knowledgeable, honest, very thorough and personable. Easy to talk to. The repair work was done by *** and ****. I was a bit concerned about the heavy rain but they assured me they would erect a tent and get the job done, and they did! They were professional and friendly and did a great job. Communication by everyone at Chimcare was excellent. I would highly recommend them. Thank you for a job well done!
