  I received a unwanted solicitation via text from this company. When I complained to the number listed in the text, I immediately got a retaliatory call from the owner using foul language and threatening my safety.

  May 17, 2023 Owner (*****) of CBI Paving made me and my family feel extremely unsafe. His employees (his son) got into an altercation with a neighbor, and I was called at work to get in touch with my neighbor and their general contractors to settle whatever dispute they were having. When I responded that I don't have my neighbors phone number, or their general contractor, I was told he was going home to get (5) guns and there was going to be a "shootout" in my neighborhood and "bullets were going to be flying everywhere" and "who knows who's going to be hit". Alarmed, I said I felt like I needed to call the police out of fear for my neighborhoods safety. ***** immediately hung up on me and would not take my calls for the next 1-2 hours while I sat at work panicking about what was happening at my home. When I came home, ***** was very unhinged and his whole team of employees were beyond rude. At this point I wanted CBI paving gone, out of my life, and to never be heard from again. However, they weren't done with the asphalt work I paid them for. For the next 1-2 days my wife and I were afraid ***** was going to show up to our house and shoot our kids. ***** rushed to finish my driveway because my neighbors were irrate about his trucks and equipment being parked in the street for so long. His quality was so poor I had another asphalt contractor come to look at my driveway. His response was "it is so far below industry standards" he couldn't believe this company was still in business. Due to the threat of gun violence, I do not feel comfortable contacting CBI paving to fix my driveway. I have blocked his phone number, but still feel scared at night that he is going to retaliate. Even writing this complaint, I am beyond scared. I have three young children, and their safety is most important to me. I don't know what can be done about this, but your help with resolving this would be most appreciated. thank you *************************

  I hired CBI paving to resurface my asphalt driveway and seal coat a newer area of asphalt. The day after the work was complete I contacted them regarding large gaps and uneven surface between the old and new asphalt. They returned and added sand to the gaps. 72 hours after the work was complete the seal coated areas had not set, although I was informed it should set in 12-24 hours. I called them again to see if they could come look at the uneven asphalt again and the seal coat that hadn't set. I was yelled at, cursed at, and told to not call him again. He proceeded to send me text messages cursing me, rambling on about nonsense and telling me again to have my husband call him. I have attached pictures of the areas I am unhappy with and the text message he sent me.
