It started at an estate sale we had. I witnessed this man's wife stealing from the sale. I didn't say anything because I did not want to cause issues at our sale with family. I found out later that my husband spoke with him and got his card. Jake said we had a few trees in the back yard that needed to come down. My husband ended up making a deal with him and gave a $1000 deposit it start the job. Long story short we waited weeks for the job to get done and it never did after asking over and over. Jake kept putting it off. My husband gave another $1000 to try and pay him off, even though he did not need to since the job was not yet complete. Once I found out who he was and that he was the thief from the sale, I was skeptical. Sure enough, that same day, Jake said he can't get the job done unless we gave him $1500 so he could rent a machine. None of that was in the contract and if he was really a professional he would've stated that in the beginning. We had to put an end to it and then later researched his business to find he is a scammer and has done this to several people. He has 4 yelp reviews and several comments on Facebook stating his scams and similar situations. We also have texts backing up our claims. He claimed he was licensed and bonded. He made threats to put a lien on the property if we did not pay him more money.

On March 27, **** came to my door offering tree services. I asked him to give me an estimate to prune 2 trees. His estimate was $425. I agreed. His wife told me they had a contract and required a deposit since so many people cancel at the last minute, I gave him a check for $225. They said if he canceled the deposit would be refunded, but if I canceled it would not be refunded. I had no intention on canceling. He was scheduled to do the work the next day at 10:00am. By 11:30 am he was not there. I called him and he "forgot", said he'd be at my place within the hour. By 1:00 still nothing. I called and he said his girlfriend had their only vehicle and when she got home, he'd be on his way. He advertises that he will haul off the debris, but they own an SUV, should have been my first red flag. By 6:30pm still no show. I text him that I wanted my deposit back since he failed to show up for the job. After much back and forth between him and his girlfriend, I have not got my money nor has the work been completed. I am filing complaints anywhere and everywhere because he's obviously done this before. TO ALL - NEVER give a deposit!!!

On November 28,2023, **** and I met up on our property to discuss the work that was needed to be done. We went over the details on the start date of November 29,2023 & and end date of December 06,2023 with a deposit of half which was $900. A contract was signed, and money was given. He was supposed to start on November 29,2023 at 9am, I didn't get any sort of communication from him that he wasn't showing up the following day. It first started off that his vehicle that he uses was out of commission and that he was waiting on parts, then the weather. At this time, I still had no direct contact. I didn't even get a copy of the contract, As the days went, and our contract date ended with no work even being started or the contact date being extended. We went 2 weeks without hearing from him when he will stop in and start, finally i got fed up and texted him that i was frustrated with his business and asked for a refund back from the deposit that we gave him, he has yet to message me back since I texted him. I just want my money back!
