On June 19, 2024 the workers employed by the Fence *** that were hired by my neighbor damaged my property by flooding it when they hit their sprinkler system. I have called and left message asking for my mats to be replaced. Little attempt was made to clean up all the mud. They have ignored me and have no intention of being responsible.

      UPDATE

******** The Fence Company owner called me on the afternoon of 6/26  He left a message to call him.  He only called me after I filed the complaint.

I returned his call the next day on 6/27 and spoke with a lady in his office (I assume a member of his family) who was extremely rude and defensive. She said the owner was not in.  I asked her to give him a message which was my next door neighbor that hired them reimbursed me the $***** I paid for for the two damaged mats due to their negligence in hitting their sprinkler system and flooding my property while installing the fence and that he would need to reimburse them the ***** and not me.

Her defense to all this was that they are a small company.  Her excuse for him never calling me back was because he was out of town. She told me that the workers cleaned up my property which is far from the truth. The workers were in a rush to finish the neighbors fence.  I called the owner on Friday 6/21 to rectify the problem and I did not hear back until 6/26 only after I filed the complaint.  I asked the girl in the office to give the owner the message that I wanted to have bark dust put down because of all the mud.  The neighbor gave me $10.00 for bark dust which only covered 2 square feet.  Not enough to cover all the dirt washed down by the sprinkler leak on my property.  She told me  that was not going to happen.  They were not paying for bark. She also further commented the owner is upset I filed a complaint.   Can you believe this they cause property damage and he is upset.  She is not even the owner of The Fence Company so she has no authority to be telling me this.

In conclusion neighbor hires Fence *** to install a fence.  They cause property damage and I am told by a family member not the owner they will not do anything.

      Business response

First of all, Hope is not our customer, she is our customer's neighbor.

Yes, our workers did break a 1-inch sprinkler pipe on our customers property, and the water was shut off in less than a couple minutes. The water flow was minimal. We repaired the broken pipe.

Water flowing downhill, did push bark dust onto Hope's property. **** contacted our workers, and at her request, we washed off her two small rubber mats, swept up any debris, and raked her bark dust back into position as she requested. At that point she seemed to be happy.

Hope did call our office and we did return her call and left a message. As of the 27th, she has not returned our call.
