In December of 2022 it was discovered that the electric booster pump and electronic control valve for the fire sprinkler system in my house were installed into the plumbing, but not hooked up to electricity. Public records show that BM Consulting Services was the contractor hired to install the system. The inspection tags also have the BM Consulting Services name and address on them and show completion dates of 2/22/21 and 3/22/21. The house was purchased in February of 2022. It's unclear if the fire suppression system will work without electricity to the booster pump and control valve. I reached out to the company via their website about this issue in 12/2022 and have yet to receive a response.

      Business response

First and foremost, we sincerely apologize for not getting back to ***********************  Our website is relatively new and the person that gets the message from the website was on vacation and January when the message from ********************** came in and it got lost ... it was not forwarded to someone here in our office who could have responded.

In addition, ********************** did not call our office to speak to anyone either.  We could have handled this immediately if we were aware.

The wiring is not part of our contract work - we are not electricians and we do not do wiring.  When our tech installed the booster pump, the contractor we were working for was informed that they needed to get it wired.  If that did not happen, there was no way for us to know that.

Had ********************** called us, we would have informed him that this was the responsibility of the builder and we could have given him a recommendation on an electrician to use.

If ********************* would like us to recommend an electrician, if his builder does not handle this situation, we would be more than happy to help him out in that way.

Please let me know if there is anything else we can do, or answer, or if anything else is needed from us to resolve this complaint in an equally satisfactory manner.

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

I found the response insincere.  There's an apology and then multiple lines of "if you had called us" excuses.  If I had called you, it's my word against yours.  This forum puts things in writing which is completely necessary given the poor quality and lack of integrity amongst most Philadelphia contractors.  This is something I'm quite sure this business owner is aware of.

I think it's also reasonable of me to assume that if you have provided email communication as an option on your website that it is being monitored and will be taken care of in an acceptable time frame.

The business owner is saying that they communicated with the hiring contractor that they needed to hire an electrician to finish the work, but the name and contact information of this contractor were not provided.

      Regards,

      *********************************

Again, we apologize for any and all miscommunication regarding this situation.  Our website is new, and the creator is who is monitoring it at this time to work out any "bugs".  The notification that ********************** sent a message was not sent to anyone in our office in error.  Our office was unaware of this situation until this complaint was received.  I have attached here the signed contract for the work to completed and the system installed.  It clearly states that electrical work is excluded.  We are not licensed electricians.  I have also attached 2 different job work tickets that were written up from ** going out to the site in March 2021 to install the booster pump.  Both tickets clearly state "needs to be wired".  These tickets were provided to the representative onsite for the contractor, D and V Contractors, Inc.  These work tickets also show a contact name and phone number for the customer.  We are not a shady contractor and don't appreciate being lumped in with the "majority of Philadelphia contractors".

We will be more than happy to come out and inspect the system and put it into service as soon as the electrical wiring is complete.
