At the end of December, we contacted Geo. B*** Kitchens to have the company convert our bar area into a small kitchenette. Mr. B*** agreed to come to our home on January 5th to inspect and measure the area to be converted, He did not show up or call. He arrived a week later on January 12th, measured the bar area and said he could have our kitchenette done by May. Mr B*** called to change our pre-arranged meeting time from 9 to 11 o'clock on Wed., Feb. 23rd. On that date Mr. B*** presented a digital printout of our job based very loosely on his measurements. He gave us a price of $32,773.00 with an expected immediate deposit of $16,386.00 . He also informed us that the cost did not include any appliances and said that we should order those appliances as soon as possible because of supply chain issues. We signed the contract and were told that the deposit was due at that time. I did not have my checkbook, and had to return the next day to give him a check for the deposit. I did not hear from Mr. B*** again. May 9th, I called Mr. B*** asking about the status of our job. He said, "Oh, your job is far out." meaning that he was not starting on our job any time soon. I reminded him that he told us May and planned for him to come out on May 23rd. Again Mr. B*** was a no show. I called. Mr. B*** admitted our appointment was on his calendar, but he forgot to drive out. He came over an hour late the next day. He made a show of measuring the area again and told us June was the new date to start the job. Again he did not start the job. The next time I called he said August, then September. As of to 10-05-2022, there has been to word or effort made to start our job. On September 8th I called Mr. B*** and left the message that we wanted our money back. I have received no response after that message, and I have left several text messages since. I need my $16K back so that I can hire another company that can install a kitchen and hope you can help me.Business response

Please see attached documents that were sent to Mr & Mrs ******. We have never had a BBB complaint in the 59 years we have been in business. Unfortunately, it is hard to resolve this issue when Mrs ****** only hangs up on us when we have called to try to resolve this. We have no problem giving her a complete refund of her deposit immediately and canceling the contract when the ******s remove this complaint and we are notified from Better Business Bureau that it has been removed. The check will be a cashiers check and will be delivered certified mail. please keep me updated.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I reject the response made to me by the George J. Bush Kitchen Center. I simply want my deposit returned. In the letter Mr. B*** sent to me he stated that "...you will recieve your downpayment (sic)of $16,386.00 in full by a cashiers check only when you supply to this firm Geo. J. Bush Kitchen Center Inc 1279 SW. 4th Ave.Derry, Pa. 15627from the BBB in writing that ID#******** has been completely removed by the Better Business Bureau and yourselves Nancy and William ****** against this firm. When we recieve in writing from the Better Business Bureau and also yourselves the ******s this has been completely removed the cashiers check will be sent out immediately there after to your daughters address..." (All misspellings are original.) Nothing in my original complaint is untrue and I stand by it. I will not be attempting to rescind or remove it from the BBB records.
