This was my contractor assigned through ******** **** ******. I waited two months for them to contact me, and within those two months I called them about 15 times. Each time, they either did not pick up when I called, or told me they would call me tomorrow (which never came). After two months I wrote a letter of intent to them and Steininger reached out and he called me a liar. He said that I never called once and that I had talked to no one. He didnt care to see the phone records. He hung up the phone on me and refused to complete my repair. I dont think this man wants to be in business if he is so bitter to his potential clientele.

      To Whom It May Concern:

      In reference to the above claim. ****** **********, *** ******* ** Dallas, PA  *****.

It was dispatched to us, the girl in the office Debbie explained to him that we were doing AC at the time due to the hot weather, we were not doing plumbing.

*** ********** did not contract with any work.  We are a sub-contractor for ***.  Just because it is dispatched to us does not mean we might be able to do the work.  We may be backed up, it could be at a distance to travel, something that we do not do.

We do not receive any payment from *** unless approved and done at this time.  *** never paid us on *** **********.

We explained to him to call back into *** to get this reassigned.  The insurance contract is not through us it is through ***.  We are not the only contractor in this area that work for ***, there are several.

I spoke with the girl in the office and  informed him of all this.  We did not hear from him until he came to our office and dropped off a letter in the mail slot which was 9/15/2022.  (Please see attached letter.

On Thursday the girl in the office is off and I found this on my office floor.  I in turn called him the same day and I spoke with him.

I tried to explain to him that we were only working on AC and we closed it out on our end with ***.

I tried to explain to him that I would try to help him out.

I explained to him that I would need a new work order and we needed the ceiling open.  Because if it is not open, *** will not pay us to open the ceiling.

He was very aggravated by what I was telling him.  I explained to him the process about we would come out there, but if I cannot see the leaking pipes and they were still covered, there was nothing that I can do.

I explained it was not open, we could not make repairs until a report was sent over to *** to see if he was covered or not.

I also explained to him that when we would come out that the work would not be completed that I would have to first diagnose what the problem is and then call into *** to see if it would be approved.

He was very aggravated with this and told me he did not have to go through this and he hung up on me.

He called *** and canceled the job.

Please see attached cancellation that *** sent us.

      Thank you!

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Answered]

       Complaint: 18032362

I am rejecting this response because:

This is childish. I waited over 2 months for a callback from them. My letter seemed to work, though. This continues to be the only contractor assigned by AHS to my unit and I am constantly cancelling and calling AHS to remove this man from their network. He should not be working for AHS if he does not have time to complete any jobs. The contractor that actually fixed my issue with my plumbing was so pleasant. I told my new plumber that I had previously waited two months for this job to even be looked at, and he asked me if it was Steiningers Plumbing who was supposed to perform the job. Apparently, Steininger has done and continues to do this to multiple other potential clients, not just myself.

      Regards,

      Business response

      11/07/2022

      November 4, 2022
      Dear *** *******:
This letter is in the interest of my client, Bob S********* of Steininger's Plumbing and Heating and Air Conditioning. I am responding on his behalf to Complaint Number ******** which was transmitted by your letter dated September 26, 2022.
My client occasionally receives business from ******** **** ****** which is a company that offers services to homeowners relating to the maintenance of their property. On July 21, 2022, ******** **** ****** sent Steininger Plumbing an email requesting that Steininger work on water leak problems incurred by a customer. Steininger's secretary informed the customer that Steininger's schedule did not allow them to accept this order as they were fully scheduled with air conditioning work. The secretary further explained to the customer that, if he wanted, he could wait but that it would be a lengthy amount of time before Steininger could address this problem. Steininger's secretary suggested that the customer call back to AHS to get this problem reassigned as Steininger is well aware that *** utilizes several contractors in our vicinity.
On September 15, 2022 it became obvious that the complainant did not act on Steininger's advice and did not, during the intervening two months, contact *** to have the matter reassigned. On September 15, 2022 the complainant went to Steininger's office and delivered a complaint letter. Mr. S********* contacted him immediately and informed the complainant that at the time the order came in, Steininger was only working on air conditioning and that he had informed AHS that he was not going to handle the claim.
Apparently this did not satisfy the complainant.
Mr. S********* wants to make several points clear:
      1. He is not obliged to accept every assignment that *** wants him to handle.

      2. He informed *** that he was not going to handle this particular assignment.

      3. He advised the complainant, through his secretary, that he should recontact *** to request them contact another contractor to accept the assignment.
      4. Apparently, because the complainant did not contact AHS again for another
contractor to be assigned to the job, no other contractor was assigned to the work.

      5. The complainant visited Steininger's office and dropped off a complaint letter on September 15, 2022.
      6. The complainant cancelled the work order with *** on September 15, 2022.
*** advised Steininger that same day
      7. The complainant continues to complain that he did not receive service on the job Steininger never accepted.
I have attached documentation for all of the foregoing with the sincere hope that this will conclude the unfortunate matter for my client.
      Very truly yours,
      ***** ** *******
