      I AM BEING CHARGED UNDER A PROCEDURE THAT SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE *** AND MY INSURANCE. THE PROVIDER IS CODING THE PROCEDURE AS DIAGNOSTIC TO GET PAID MORE MONEY AND IS BLACKMAILING ME TO PAY BY RUINING MY CREDIT.

      I received the documentation for the complaint ID ********. 

      Regional Gastroenterology Associates of Lancaster provides the same service to patient regardless of their insurance and is reimbursed at the same rate regardless of a diagnostic versus screening determination.  All documentation is reviewed and coded by coders, not by the providers to ensure accuracy of claim submission.  Based on the documentation, the insurance carrier applied the contracted amount as patient responsibility, which if unpaid is referred to collections per our financial procedures.

      I am rejecting this response because: They are passing the buck and charging for an item covered by the ***. Blaming the coders is what the insurance companies do.

      6/1/2021 had colonoscopy. Covered fully by insurance. Payment made by insurance on 10/2021 and again 2/2022. Have been receiving bill for varying amounts (Ranging from $304-$550) for more than 6 months. Have called insurance and Regional Gastro more than 10 times. Insurance company (Independence admin) says claim as been paid at 100% per in network contract. I have tried calling on a conference call with insurance rep and me but Regional GI does not answer call. Insurance rep said it is illegal for Regional GI to continue to send me bill when this was in network claim.
