We signed a contract with John G*** of Master Carpenter Remodeling, LLC in March 2023 agreeing that he would renovate our two upstairs bathrooms, move the washer and dryer upstairs, and complete wainscoting in the master bedroom. Mr. G*** started work on April 12, 2023. He completed work on June 8, 2023. He had to re-tile the master bath shower floor because it did not drain water. It still does not. He has the dryer vent exiting into an empty space above the garage, which he lied about, telling us it exited the house at the roof. This is in violation of state and local building codes. We are also concerned about mold build up in the space and a potential fire hazard. Rusty water is coming out of the second bath's faucet. Mr. G*** was contacted via text and calls multiple times and we have not heard back from him. A certified letter was sent by our attorney on August 3, 2023 and we have not gotten a response. He has violated several clauses of the Pennsylvania Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act by not drafting a proper contract, failing to put his license number and address on his business card and contracts, and false characterization/advertisement of his abilities (he said he could do bathrooms, but clearly cannot).
